Default Scott Kelby Photoshop for Digital....

Photographers Seminar Tour is coming to DC on Monday. I just found out. Apparently there are a few spots open, do you think it would be worth $99 and ditching work. Or do you think it will consist of things we've already learned from each other here or save my money and purchase one of his photoshop books?

I've been to several of his workshops and some of the other Kelby training guys, too. I always learn something.
I think that's the one where he sets up a photo shoot and walks you through his entire process. It was cool getting to see how he tackles a job start to finish. He uses professional equipment (lights, backdrop, etc.) to demo.

I wouldn't miss it if he came to my city! He is a wealth of information and I know I would get more out of a seminar then wading through a book.

Jealous =P

Thanks for your response ladies, I'm still undecided but leaning towards yes.

Sara this is supposed to be an entirely new tour, according to the schedule it is all about editing your photos, but it would be nice to his entire set up.

One of the tours comes to SLC every year. I have been 3 times and it is fantastic. However, I have not been the last couple of years, decided that not only do I spend the registration money but I buy other stuff there too. I prefer to save my money for DD sales, haha.

Oh man! Wish I could go! Too bad I can't ditch work (which is that pesky being-mom-to-four thing *hehe*).

Oh I think I'd do it Angela. It would be neat to see how he does his editing from a technical viewpoint but also from a creative side. Plus I think it would be a hoot to do once. Let us know what you decide.

Ok ladies, I can now say that I've been to a Scott Kelby seminar. It was interesting but I'm not really sure it was worth the money, only because there were so many people there (easily 1,000 people) and although I was on time I felt like I was late. I ended up wayyyyy in the back and you really couldn't ask questions.... only at break but you had to go get in line and he was not able to get to everyone in the line before break was over. It was interesting to see his process and I came away with a booklet with his process, which was good. I also came away wanting more crap. Photography has to be the most expensive hobby ever at some point I'm going to have to improve enough to make it a part time job.....lol. Meanwhile a major change happened at work and I received a text message and it completely threw off my concentration for the last hour and oh yeah traffic was horrible. Seminar ended at 5:00 and I got home at 7:40.

Sorry there was some bad stuff in there, Angela, and thanks for reporting back. I would've gone, too.

Hope the work stuff ended up being minor.

I've heard the same thing as far as the number of people in attendance.
