Default Ball head problem.

Hmmm. That is a rather dubious heading I must say.

I am looking into buying a ballhead and I would like to get an Manfrotto ballhead. Now,
my question is this:
Is is possible to only buy the head part (with the ball of course) and then attach it to ANY tripod.

Are these things interchangeable/universal?

I have a pretty good tripod, nothing expensive and I would like to get a good Manfrotto ballhead for it. Is that even possible, or would I need to get the Manfrotto legs as well ?

Forget it - I just found a Gorillapod Ballhead (new!) that can fit any tripod - really cool - and not that expensive (around $50). Mmmmm, I might go for that.

Aino, I thought perhaps you had a bad translation from Norwegian->Hebrew->English with that title!! Glad you found what will work for you.

That sounds good, Aino! I think that some of these aren't interchangeable.

I had a Manfrotto tripod and purchased the ballhead later... but I think you have to stick with the brand of tripod you have. Not sure that they are universal?

I do love mine though =)
