Several photo apps were mentioned in Angie's thread asking about iPhone apps, but I thought it would be fun to have a little photo app talk over here.
I got my iPhone in June and have used the camera quite a bit since then. I love the apps, love the toy camera looks, the weird filters, all of it. It really injected life into my photography a few times when my mojo was flagging--a new app would make it all seem brand new. One of the first photography apps I got was CameraBag, and it is still one of my favorites. It's so simple to apply a filter--love the Helga (Holga-like) filter--to an existing photo. In the fall they upgraded and added a cross-process filter that I like a lot too. I have tried a bunch of other apps; I always come back to CameraBag. Just yesterday I picked up Hipstamatic, which is the hot new photography app, if you judge by Flickr and the App Store. I resisted for a bit because you can't apply effects to photos from the camera roll, but I caved, and I am really having fun with it. It is a toy camera app with various lenses and films (films mostly affect the frame but some also affect the look of the photo as well) and flash options. Several lenses and films come with the $2 app, and you can buy more for $1 each; I've already sprung for the pack that includes a black & white film. I have used Best Camera, PS Mobile, CameraKit, Mill Colour, TiltShift Generator, QuadCamera, and quite a few others. I try to tag photos in Flickr with the app I used, but I don't always remember. Here are my iPhone photos on Flickr. What are your favorites?

I must be photographicly challenged, because my Iphone pictures usually turn out really grainy and icky. I have almost given up on the thing, unless it's a bright nice day out

I LOVE 'ShakeItPhoto' for that polaroid look. Its summer holidays here in New Zealand and I guess it reminds me of childhood or something. I've got 'Best Camera' and 'CameraBag' but haven't really given them a go yet.
On a less serious note, I found a more healthy (???) way of releasing some anger! I have the 'Faces Wild!' app - I was cross with my DH and put his face on a garden gnome!!! Every time I look at it it cracks me up!!!

Back again...
You know, I really wanted to join in on the POTD group at Flickr, but the thought of lugging my camera everywhere and then uploading was overwhelming as I already spend so much time with it. Now the Hipstamatic app has given me renewed hope. This thing is fun and I'm going to give the group a try because of it

Hmm, I'm actually happy with using the ipone camera and nothing else. I initially bought some apps like camera bag and camera zoom but found that I never use them. I use colorsplash and PS mobile for post processing and mainly just for fun. I Love pano but I could just use my DSLR. It's for when I am super lazy and want to email without loading to the computer first.
I like that you bring this up Laura. I was thinking of doing a photo a day (on top of the one I already do) with my iphone. I love that you have a flickr set of just your iphone photos. You have totally inspired me to just do it. Do you upload to flickr via your phone?

Kerry has me laughing out loud! Hey, the photography addiction is so much cheaper with the iPhone--imagine running out to buy a couple lenses for your dSLR on an impulse! (That's how I justify the buck or two here or there, anyway.)
Michele, sometimes I upload directly from my phone, but usually I sync with my computer and upload from there. I like seeing them on a big screen before releasing them into the big wide world! Though Hipstamatic makes uploading to Flickr and Facebook very simple and quick.
