Default Blue Moon

Ok I tried to get a photo of the Blue moon last night-brrr it was cold here-even the dog water froze!
Anyway I have a blurry image that really looks like the moon and then a bright orb-what is all that about?

I think that is what you were supposed to get.. I read somewhere on thursday that there would be a 'shadow' moon.. have to go out right now but when I get back I'll try to find the article and post the link for you. I think it has something to do with cloud cover and reflections... It's a very cool picture though

Thanks for sharing the photo Valerie.

Did you have a UV filter on your lens? It can produce the ghosting.

What you captured is lens reflection from the barrel of your lens. It happens sometimes when I shoot birthday candles and other lights in low light situations. Take your filter off and it will lessen the chance it occurs.

I think your moon shot is fantastic! When I saw it it was almost white. Wish I could have seen the blue. :O)
