Default Katrina or anyone...Exposure question

Using Katrina tutorial from the light chat trying to take photos of all my ornaments before we pack them away.

Anyway...my f-stop is f/16, shutter is 10", camera on tripod, and using the timer so I don't have to touch the camera.

When I look at my histogram the white, red, and green are all right in the middle of the graph the blue however is way over to the left. Is this a normal occurrence or am I doing something wrong? Forgot to add that I'm using a Nikon D80 with my 50mm 1.8 lens

I need some suggestions because I only have till Friday when we take the tree down to get these photos right.

Thanks!!!

I don't have a Nikon so I don't know what the blue stands for. How do they look on the view finder? Can you post one for us to see?

Here is the one I'm talking about Jen -

The red, green, and luminance are all right in the direct center of the histograms but the blue is way over to the left.

Sorry this is so big I tried to get it smaller but it won't let me.

Just waking up from a long winter's nap

I took a look at your photo in Levels and it looks like the blues are too the left but not Clipped (running up the side of the histogram)

The blue to the left is caused by the predominance of yellow light in your photo. Using an Average White Balance contributed to it. If you shot in raw you can adjust your colors a bit.

Try adjusting your white balance to Tungsten and see what you get!

I'll try that...Thanks! And I'm jealous of the nap too.
