Default So sad - sending off my 40D to Canon for repairs : (

I don't know what I am going to do without my baby!

some how a pin broke off for the CF card connection and now it won't read anything.

I am so tempted to go out and get another just to use while mine is in repair.

Mary, I am so sorry! Those CF cards are a pain in the tail. The pins get bent so easily, I've trashed 3 or 4 card readers in the last year by cramming the cards in just a little off-center.

Hope you get it back soon!

Oh, what a bummer! Do you have a point-and-shoot you can use in the meantime?
Hope it comes back quickly!!

I'd definitely get a point and shoot while yours is gone. I dread the day this happens to me. So sorry Mary.

yes, be careful - I can't imagine how it broke, but it did.

I do have a Nikon Coolpix S60 to use as a backup - but Hayden's first formal is this weekend and I don't think the point & shoot is gonna cut it - I may just have to borrow one

oh man what a bummer Mary. I know being without your camera is like being without the internet or your power or at least pretty close. Hope you have a speedy return!

Oh Mary! I am a Nikon girl, but I would sure let you borrow my camera for the formal if we lived closer! Have you thought about renting one while yours is away? I have never had my camera in to get cleaned or fixed and I dread the day I have to part with it for a few weeks! It's like sending a child to school for the first time!
Thinking of you....

Now that's understandably upsetting, Mary! I hope they have it back in your hands ASAP. And yes, I'd borrow a camera, too
