Default Santa is a Sweetie!

He brought me a nikon speedlight, a diffuser, pen cleaner, cardholder, an extra remote, and a holder for AA batteries. And an extra battery for my point-n-shoot! What a Sweetheart!

The manuel for the flash is almost as big as the camera manual, lol.

Any fun camera stuff under your tree?

I bought myself a new tripod, as my old was on its last leg and my adopted family gave me a small lowpro camera backpack, which I love.

I'm a happy girl, as my 50mm f/1.8 lens that I broke in August was replaced yesterday, and my son got me a lens hood for my 28-135 lens.

Well, my hubby remembered that I mentioned needing a 2nd battery for my battery grip on my Nikon. And here I didn't think he listened to me!

My dad gives me money-which I love-so I went tripod shopping yesterday. I couldnt bring myself to spend the money on a manfretto-I think that is almost how you spell it-anyway the best I could find at Best Buy was 99. and dh wanted a player to watch NetFlix so I went to the Ritz store at the outlet mall and found a Quantaray by Sunpak and, although it is a few ounces heavier than the Manfratto? it is awesome, it has a level, quick release, a built in monopod and it is has an extended height of 61.7-I have already tried it out in the house and oh boy-I can see off auto coming now!!!!

Hope you have better luck with your Quantaray than I have! The head is so loose now (after less than a year) that my camera is no longer stable.....

DH got me a new digital SLR - Canon XSi. It replaces my old, old Rebel which is starting to have issues again. The very first thing that struck me was the weight of the new SLR. It seems so light compared to my old one. The display in the back is 3X larger and I can tell how much better the electronics are with this camera. I'm loving it!

Oh, Santa was good for you!

My Santa ( DH )tried to buy me a studioset, but it didn't work out, because it was not in stock.
I'd really loved the thought, but to be honest,i was kind of glad that he could not buy it, he doens't know anything about studiosets, so he would probaply come home with the wrong one.

Here in Holland most of the people don't celebrate Christmas like you do in the States.
At 5 dec. we have Sante Claus ( Sinterklaas), and he brings a lot of presents.
Our family does celebrate Christmas with presents under the tree, but a lot of families don't.

And for now iam still figuring out whats the best studioset for me. Pfff, so many choices and options!
