Trying to decide on a P&S to carry in my purse...any help is appreciated

but thought I would check back since it is a few months old and see if there are any new suggestions. There are times when I cannot carry my dslr or don't want to carry it but still want to be able to take photos. Thinking about on of these 2. The first one I can get on sale for $149 right now.

I have the PowerShot SD870 IS - which is in the same family. I have been exceptionally pleased with this camera, and mine is only 8 megapixels compared to these new 10-12 megapixel models. Mine even allows me to get into a "manual" mode so I can control exposure, ISO myself. It looks like these do as well. For the money, it's hard to beat. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either. I take mine everywhere.

I have an old Powershot... not the models you listed, i just want to say that even though it's been dropped 400 times, the shutter cover doesn't open fully and it has lost some of it's streamlined look for dents- it's an awesome P&S. You can't go wrong with either!
