I wish I could say, yes you are going to get the same photo at both apertures, but it isn't the case. The glass elements that make up the 1.4 are better quality than those used in the 1.8. He will notice the difference in price as well
![]() The difference might be only slightly noticeable but there will be a difference. That being said, I happily used the 1.8 for several years. The motor in Canon's 1.4 is faster so your ability to focus works much more smoothly and, of course, faster. I was given the 1.4 by my hubby who didn't think I had the 1.8 already. I told him to return it. He said, well, just try it and see. I tried it and promptly offered my 1.8 to a friend! Enjoy your new lens, whichever it might be! |

Hi,
This is no doubt for me a very good info about the lenses as, I have heard about this too and most of the good photographers use this lens only as, it is sharp, small, light, inexpensive and faster ability to focus. Also, the first quality of this lens is the good image quality. Thanks! |
