Default Life After P365

What are you thinking about to hone your photography skills in 2010?

I was thinking about a Kent, Ohio project - photos of my adopted home town as it looks in 2010. There's a lot of cool, quirky, homey, and downright beautiful stuff in this town. Front doors, sweet houses, historic buildings, the changing riverfront, student eccentricities, festivals (any excuse to go to a local festical!), the farmers market...

I just need enough structure to hang the project on and keep me moving forward. Maybe a commitment to post to the Flickr group, too?

That sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm new here so I didn't do the 365 project but this one would be great for me because it doesn't require doing it every day. DonnaNJ

Mary Ann, that sounds like an awesome idea for a 365 book!

I am not sure what my "theme" is going to be next year. This year's theme was 'life." I might stick with a life theme again as I have 3 kids (ages 4,6,8) so a lot of "life" happens around here! I have been working on my 2010 template, but I am not satisfied with it yet. I am trying to fix what I didn't like about this year's template and incorporate elements from other 365 templates that I love!

I am SO thankful that I did this project!

that sounds like such a cool project for a book, not necessarily for a 365 for me, as I still want to continue that, but I always thought about making pages about the town I live in. I had planned on taking shots of all the steeples only to find out that there is a book for sale with just those. Too funny. But houses and doors etc. sounds really interesting, I might just do that!

This is a great post of ideas. I just turned 49 (can't believe I'm saying that!) on Monday so as I think about the next BIG number I thought I would journey and journal my way to the 50 mark with a "50 WEEKS to 50 YEARS" album. Lots of thoughts and quotes and photos about LIFE and people and places and things I've LEARNED along the way. Looking forward to Anna's "Album Magic" class for more inspiration and will keep my eye on this post and the gallery for even more great ideas!

I'm going to stick with just grabbing everydayness for another year. I love the spontaneity of it.

Also, I have a nice little list I'll be giving out in my chat on Saturday! Hope to see you there!

a themed 365 does motivate you, but it is harder too... I knwo I'm doing people and a basic 365 everyday one. its hard to 'find' people last thing at night when youve nearly forgotten!!

I seem to do better with a theme or assignment. Since I am here by myself part of every week doing just life gets very difficult! I think I am going back to posting on flickr and doing just a book of photos at the end of the year.

I have mulled over several ideas and I am thinking of doing the calendar format with each month and then doing full pages of any special photos, events, etc to include between the calendar pages.

I have a bunch of ideas swirling in my head. I think I am going the theme route too... just to change it up a bit. I think I am going to do weekly challenge pages but I still plan on doing a monthly recap of photos. Still at the drawing board at the moment =D

I've kept up with 365, but it's become a burden. I might do some location themes, places I go, or things like that. But everyday is too much for me with my schedule. (Processing and scrapping aren't the problem, it's taking the pictures that is hard!)

I love the idea of scrapping where you live! I, too, work better with a theme and not being commited to photos every day. With no kids at home and no pets anymore, this would be a great project. Hope you don't mind Mary Ann if I pick up on your idea here!

Melanie - I was thinking more a themed 52. Maybe fewer photos, hoping that p365 has improved my shooting skills a bit.
