Default Need help deciding

OK girls...I need help spending my birthday money.

Should I get a new lens or full Photoshop?

The only lens I have is a 35mm 1.8 and I'm using Elements 4 to scrap.

WWYD?

Thanks!!

Boy Karen... you sure don't ask an easy question... hm-m-m... new lens or PS4... I vote for PS4, but you don't need "full version" trust me get the one that doesn't have 3D effect it's $ 200 chipper and I daubed that you'll ever be using 3D, but you will sure enjoy HOW MUCH control over pictures (even taken with 35 mm it's a good lens) you'll gain with PS4 instead of Elements... that's my opinion hope it helps your decision...

I just got a new lens for my birthday (which is today). So I'm a happy chappy!!! I'm not sure how different PSE4 is from PSE5, but I'm happy with PSE5 on my home computer. I have PS4 on my work laptop and rarely use it. And you have lightroom to process your pics so you're pretty well set up on that score. Is your lens a fixed 35mm lens? I would have thought a zoom lens would be a great addition to your collection.

Get yourself another lens. I had PSE 4 and just upgraded to CS4 6 months ago. I never would have upgraded if I had only had one lens. I don't do much editing on my photos to begin with, only when needed or just for fun. And as far as scrapbook pages go, sure, there are things I couldn't do in PSE 4, but think of all the things you can do with an additional lens! I agree with Esther, a zoom lens would be a great addition. Have you thought about what lens you'd like or what type of photos you want to take?

I really don't know. I've been a Photoshop addict for so many years I really couldn't imagine life without it at this point.

Lens! When you're ready for the next purchase, go to Adobe for the upgrade price from PSE to CS4. Sounds like CS5 will be coming out in the next few months so imagine Adobe will be pushing upgrades again. Enjoy your new lens... you'll love it

As someone who's way behind on camera equipment, I'd have to say new camera stuff first. The photoshop upgrade will always be there, but the new lens will really help you get more out of your photography right now.

P.S.: Esther - is your birthday the 26th or 27th? (Not sure the time difference so not sure which day.) Today's MY birthday too! Too cool!

I'd go for a new lens too, but either would make a great birthday gift. Happy Birthday!

Karen, when you post this question to a Photography Forum, you know it's going to be loaded on one side, lol.
Oh, and have a lovely birthday whichever way you choose. My bet is that CS5 will be released the second quarter of next year, though I'm keeping fingers crossed it will be sooner, since I'm waiting to upgrade CS3.
