Unhappy Please Help explain !!

Hi All
I hope I can write down what my problem is...
Firstly, I have a Nikon D70 DSLR, (usually shot in 'Auto' mode, as dont understand af etc)... but, this is NOT my question.
Lately, Ive noticed that when Im taking a photo, when pressing the shutter button half way down to focus, my camera is not responding with the usual 'focussing' movement... (I know this doesnt sound right, maybe I can put it another way)
Usually when I press the click button to take a shot, the lens moves to focus, (or it sounds like it moves anyway) but thats not happening now.. Im not sure what Ive done, can someone help me please...
Janet

could you have knock the lens from Auto focus to manual focus? there is a little sliding button on the side of the lens that you would have had on 'AF' and may now be on 'MF'

??

OMG, I think thats done it, I went and checked my camera, and voila! yes it was on 'M', it wasnt easy to slide back, so not sure 'WHO' changed it, but someone did....
Thank you.... (I didnt think to check that, as I know I definitely didnt change it)...

Usually when that happens to me, it's my husband who's the culprit -- lol!

It seems that one of my dogs is always messing my settings up. How else could my camera get into the TV (video) mode?
