Default LR - I'm panicking!

I spent hours processing my photos from the Kelby photo walk. Now somehow all of my processing is gone. My photos have reverted back to their original state. I did export all the jpegs with my edits, but I don't have the processing on the RAW files.

Any ideas what I could have done or whether this is recoverable?

Strange Myra. I've never had that happened. I wish I knew. You might try posting your question on Matt K's website. Did you process each separately or do a copy and paste?

I processed each separately because they were all in different light. I used different presents, cropped, fiddled made them just so...

Luckily, I was making a book of them, so they are all exported. But I don't understand how this happened, and don't want it to happen again.

Myra, I'm so sorry. I have never had that problem but have wondered since it all seems automatic. I assume you do a backup of your library each time you start. Have you closed the LR since this happened? Let us know how this is resolved so we can all learn. Thanks.

I'm totally new to LR, but did you move where the original files were? Could that have done it?

Okay Myra, I'm reaching here, but you are in the develop module? When you look at the history on the left hand side do you see a step above your changes or is it just back to the import step?

theres this 'thing' - if you google it like I've had to today!!!- about Lr and its catalogs being weird. Mine decided randomly to import some of my latest photos into 'LR back up" and then I totally freaked not being able to find them the next time I opened {it opened?} the correct one. You can maybe find your pictures -hopefully- in finder via your pictures- the date and the folder there. or at least I did. I still havent *quite* figured out how why and how NOT to do it again, tho I'm working on it!

Can you explain that a little more Mel? I've already resigned myself to the loss. I did move a bunch of photos around, but not that particular folder. I can't figure this out. These photos are from July 18th, and I've imported and changed so many times since Katrina, that I don't see anything but yesterday's changes. rrrr. I'm going to check the LR flickr group and see if anyone can help.

And no, unfortunately, I haven't backed up my catalog in a couple weeks.

oh bad girl not backing up! naughty naughty. always always back it up, every week at least - yes I know thats no help now
I cant really explain anymore. I am starting to think the more I try to figure it out the less I understand. all I can say is its made by adobe. they have quirks in their stuff. like the PSE closing and being odd, like this hey where did my photos go...
have you recently updated? you should be on 2.4 to be up to date of any quirks they admit to, oops I mean; know about.
I'm kinda managed to sort my problem out. I follwed the guys on LR flickr advice. but please dont ask me HOW or why.
LOL
I hope at least you can make sure it never happens again.
