Default Crumpler question

I have some Amazon gift certificates and am thinking of getting the Crumpler camera bag I've been eyeing for months. I thought I wanted the 6 Million Dollar Home, but I noticed today that there's one color of 7 Million DOllar Home that is priced cheaper than the 6M. Will I be sorry if I get one that's bigger than I need? (Is that a silly question?)

I have a Canon 40D, 58EX II flash, and three lenses (none huge). It all fits in my LowePro SLingshot 200, but I'd love to have a little room for a wallet and phone and that sort of sundry thing. Any advice?

I don't have one... yet But, I have about the same equipment that you have and I was eyeing the 7 Million Dollar bag. I would like everything in one place... in a perfect world I would get both =D

Well I don't have a Crumpler (although they're on my wish list!) But no matter WHAT bag I have, I find that I can never fit my things in there exactly as advertised. Oh sure, I believe my bag *can* fit three lenses and a flash and my camera and my filters, but who has the time to carefully push and prod and flip and stow and shove EACH DANG TIME she wants to get out a new lens? The things fit in there like one of those stupid little brain puzzles and I don't want to solve it every time I put my camera in and out! I like a BIG OLD BAG into which I can fit everything with room to spare. So personally I'd go with the bigger one. That's just me, though!

Laura, I bought the Crumpler 6 mil on Pattie's suggestion. (tan with bright green lining... black strap) I love it and it goes with me everywhere. I carry my EOS with two extra lenses plus I have a slot for my large wallet and another slot for a small make-up kit... bare basics. I like having the dividers that are provided and I have moved them a bit to accomodate what I carry. Also, the flap over the top has a nice sized zippered compartment for flat items... checkbook, notes etc. I would think the 7 mil would be fine too. The loaded 6 mil is not light, by any means, but it has not been a problem. Also, it is wide (font to back) and does stick out. The strap is padded, which is a necessity. I do get comments about what I have in this bag but I love having it with me all the time. I also have the Lowes 200 slingshot that I will use for hikes or other outings of that nature. So, for carrying all the gear, it works well. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, all! I'm going for the 7M. I was flummoxed when I realized I could save $10 by going larger--whoda thunk?

I'd go with the 7 million too. I have the 6 mil and it is PACKED TIGHT with 3 lenses, 30D body and flash. I can cram my wallet and phone in as well but it is a tight fit!

I only have 2 lenses and no flash so brought the Crumpler 5 million - the pictures showed how it all fit together nicely, but like Jennifer said that's just about impossible! And trying to fit in my purse, phone, keys, etc is a mission impossible. I wish I'd gone for the next size up.

It was SO-O-O FUNNY when I stumbled upon this thread with only JenD's answer... I thought Laura was talking about REAL homes... LOL... that shows how good I know about all FINE accessories for my expensive Nikon D700... I am kinda like Jennifer, stuffing all in one big bag, but then I google it and looked at what the heck you'll talking about... and I actually really like it and bought one "7 mill" grey with pink corners...
So thanks Laura for starting this thread !!!

You'll be happy with the 7 million. I have the 5, but I have a smaller camera and only car about 2 lenses :-)

I bought the 5 million to just carry the body and two lenses around for everyday shooting. I have a larger bag that I get out when I go on trips- but I'm thinking about the 7 for that purpose because it looks so much better!

Have you been to the Curmpler web site? It shows all the bags and has photos showing how much you can fit in them (and it's just a fun site!)

I have the large one in bright red and used it today. Love it since the velcro is industrial strength. I also have the medium size Jill-E bag which I adore. I bought that in yellow and it has room for what I need also. Can't imagine how big a large Jill-E bag would be. Use them depending on what I'm wearing. Susie

Love my crumpler bag. I love that it doesn't look like a camera bag. The university I attend has had a lot of thefts targeted at females with laptops and cameras, so I feel a little bit better that my bag doesn't scream camera! I have the 6 million and can fit my camera body and 4 lenses ... it is a tight fit though! I really want the brazillian though... so that I can have my camera and computer in one bag.

Laura, you are going to be so happy with the 7M bag....I got one a couple months ago and don't regret it a bit!! I love it for traveling, big enough for camera equipment plus whatever was in my purse that I want to take along too! What color did you order?

Kathie, I ordered "purple/light purple/orange," which sounds just perfect for my style. I can't wait till it arrives!
