Default Ever Wonder What To Look for in a Photo?

We are critiquing photos in a thread over at the DD Photo A Day Flickr group! Completely constructive with a great technique used by the pros! Lots of learning going on even if you don't want to throw your hat in the ring

VERY interesting, Katrina... and fun to read thru. Totally different way to look at pics, isn't it? Thanks for sharing! Now, if I could only find time to actually TAKE some pics... sigh...

Do you have to have a flickr account to view these?

Katrina, when I try to view the page, it says it is private. Do you have to join the DD Flickr group to view the page?

You shouldn't need a flickr account to view it. Let me see if I can fix it! Be right back!

ETA

Well, you learn something new every day! You do need a flickr account to view our discussion threads! Who knew? You can view our group's photos at the link at the bottom of the page or here http://www.flickr.com/groups/30dd/, but you won't be able to see our threads. I guess it is nice to know that not just anyone can come looking at what we are talking about Sorry about that!

I opened a Flickr account, but it says I don't have permission to view that page. Hm . . .

Thanks, Katrina! The thread is so interesting, and all of you are so skilled in your critiques of the photos. If I can summon up the nerve, I may join the group.

I also enjoyed that thread and learned so much just by reading it. Love everyone's pictures at DD's flicker site.

That is very interesting to read, Katrina. So much more helpful to be specific instead of just saying things like "wonderful photo" isn't it? I admire all of you Flickr posters for your dedication to your craft. You're always studying and learning. No wonder your photography skills keep growing and your photos have the WOW factor.

I printed that page out and have it sitting by my computer. Thanks, Teri and Katrina for this very relevant information. When I get caught I'll add a photo for critique.

I hope you ladies decide to post your photos. This group has stretched me, and I've been so lucky to have the comments of these amazing photographers. It's just more of DD!

That is a wonderful thread, I love your comments, they are very informative. I feel that I am learning just by reading them. I just went back to look at my pictures from last year and some of them make me shudder. I guess I have learned a little over the last year Maybe at some point I will start this up again, even it not every day...

What a neat thread. I'm also one that learns and grows myself by reading and giving constructive criticism! And Anke, that's a sure sign of a growing photographer, looking back at old stuff and cringing... LOL.

Thanks for the link, Katrina. Amazing photos! I copied the critiques notes into MicroSoft OneNote so they're easy to find.
