Default Online Proofing

I'm curious if any of the professional photographers use an online proofing / order fulfillment service? I don't do enough work year around to justify a monthly fee. But I've been looking into others that charge per order, etc. I have a website, but I can't post private galleries.

Thanks,

Dinah

Hi!
I use PhotoCart from PicturesPro.com
http://www.picturespro.com/pages/pho...shopping_cart/

I don't use it to its fullest potential, but it has made my life so much easier. And my customers find it a snap to use.

I know there are other similar services, but this one is fairly resonably priced and you only pay once and you're done. No montly fees or fees based on sales or anything.

Good luck!

I prefer to do my own order fulfillment, so just use my website's built in shopping cart for orders. You can be do "pay by event" on collages.net though to avoid a monthly fee.

I was using Zenfolio and loved it. I just bought a new template for my website that includes a shopping cart and place for proffing galleries. Zenfolio is very inexpensive... you can get a basic account for only $25 a year. I was using the next level which is $40 per year for unlimited storage, but if you aren't that busy the basic would probably be more than enough for you. Not sure if I'm allowed to put the link for it, but here is the site. www.zenfolio.com

I use SmugMug to display photos for my clients. However, since I provide all pictures to my clients on a CD as part of my photo service, I don't actually use that site to have them ORDER pictures from me. I just want to make sure they can see the pictures in all their glory before receiving the CD from me. So I'm not sure how the ordering part works there, but the display part is GREAT.

SmugMug is relatively cheap, I think, especially for me b/c I am not really "working" working right now. I am doing few jobs here and there, but a lot of times I'm not even charging at all! (I've done several newborn/maternity shoots for friends). But I love SmugMug even for showing pics to my family...the quality is SUPERB!

Thank you for all the information! I'm still trying to decide what to use, but this has really helped!

SmugMug has added two print fulfillment options that you are able to select before your client sees it.

Do you use the standard, power or pro level at smugmug? I'm not sure I need print fulfilment, I'd just like a way to display the photos and have my customers choose, then I will order the prints.

I use the pro level so that I have the most control over my galleries.
