This thread is DANGEROUS!!! Yikes!! You ladies are putting ideas in my head....

Now that I have the wonderful D90 AND a Crumpler bag.... and I got a long zoom lens for next to nothing (second hand). OK, it is not Nikkor, but Sigma and does not have VR, but it takes lovely sharp photos.

The next thing is to get a speedlight (I think I will go for the "simple" SB400, since I try to stay away from flash and this is good enough for me) and a remote control for my new beauty.

Now I REALLY want a real macro lens. Have to think economy here, so I have my eyes set on the Tamron 90mm or the Sigma 105mm. I think the Tamron is the most useful one, since it is also good for portraits.

Then comes the time for a nice wide angle lens. If I could afford it, I probably would go for Nikkor, but the Sigma 10-20mm is nice, but expensive here. Or what about a few primes, like a 85mm or the new 35mm...... hmmmmm...... now WHERE is that money tree again?????

(And they warned me about lens lust.....) *grump*

I hear you Aino, these type of threads are enablers. Just when I thought I knew what I wanted someone puts suggestions into my head.
Does anyone know how the tamron or sigma macro lens compare to the nikkors? I really want a macro, but have no experience with these brands.

I have the 2.8 90mm Macro from Tamron. I haven't had a lot of time to practice with it, but from what I have used it.... it's great! Seems to feel a little more cheaply made than the Nikkor lenses, but I figured that it's not going to be one that I'll have on my camera all the time. It had some pretty good reviews on BHphoto.com.

I do have a large softbox.... the Westcott Apollo 50x50. LOVE IT!!

Aino, I really love the Nikkor 60 2.8 macro, it's all I use for newborn and is really a great portrait lens and is in the $300-$400 range I believe.

Kim, the Nikkor 60mm is also one of the options, but I was thinking to get a little more stretch.....
