Default White Balance 50D

I got a Canon 50D last November and I am not very happy with the white balance. My XTI never had any problems with this (I always left it on auto). The 50D seems to go very pink. Any suggestions?
Also, does anybody have any suggestions on a good monitor. You know, one that is good for photo editing?

I'm of no help. I do have the same camera, although I haven't really looked into the white balance button yet sad I know...I need a new computer with a monitor...When I print my pics at home they look good, but when I go down to the local (1) place we have in my town to print photos, they always look different, and not in a good way. If you find any solutions, let me know too!

I am of no help on the white balance part of your question, sorry.

However, I can offer my favorite monitor which I just adore - Apple Cinema HD Displays. I have had my 30" for a few years now and just love its resolution 2560 X 1600. They aren't cheap but I have never regretted getting it.

Well, I bought one of those 18% gray cards to set my custom white balance and WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I know this camera isn't just a point and shoot and BAM beautiful pictures; I just didn't know how to set the custom white balance. I am happy I did this.
