Very cool! Once you've had some time with your baby, I'd love to get your opinion on its performance and ink usage. I've also looked at getting one, and would really value your perspective! Thank you, and congratulations!

I have the R 1900 too, and it does a great job. I had the R1800 which was equally great . . . I cannot tell any difference in the results. The R1900 does seem to use more ink than my old one, but that could be just because I have been doing so much printing since just before Christmas. (I obviously have used more ink, so the ink usage may be equal.)
What a wonderful sister-in-law you have! She obviously appreciates your computer help so much, which means that you are a great SIL too.  Congrats on the new baby in the family.
