Default cleaning camera

My camera needs a cleaning, I have had it for 4 years & shoot a lot, but the cost is like 100 dollars & takes several days, has anyone used the sensor cleaning kits & like them or can tell me if I SO should NOT use them?? I am getting tired of having to clone out all of the dirt spots.

Erin I NEVER EVER clean my camera myself. They say you can so do damage.

Here in SA if you take your camera direct to Nikon/Canon/ANO you hand it in to the service dept - they put it in a vacuum and clean it. For free. and you can wait. Wonder if you have the same service there.

Erin I have never tried, but the guy that taught the last photog class I took, said you can do it just fine. I am not sure I would trust myself....BUT he says a the locally owned camera shop THEY will do it for you if you buy the self kit. So basically you buy it then hand it over to them and they do it! I wonder if you could check around and find someone that could help? Good Luck!

I did it! I had a lot of dust on the sensor, and called to price cleaning. The shop said they would have to send it out and I would be camera-less for 6 weeks!! Being right before Christmas, I panicked, did some google research and went ahead and did it just fine. Do some internet research -- there's a lot of youtube instruction. I mean, I know there are risks...so you decide...but I just thought I'd chime in and give you hope!!
