Default Kim, questions for ya!

I was thinking about trying to do a photo shoot with my daughter similar to the one you you did with Jake for his first birthday. I loved those pictures and I would love to give it a shot. I am still new at this and I know nothing about high key, so I know my results will not be nearly as great as yours but I was going to give it a shot. If you don't mind, I was wondering what you used as the "floor" and what lighting tips you may have, as well as any other tips to pull it off. I was thinking a piece of plexi-glass with white vinyl underneath? I might be way off though, lol. Thanks in advance!!

My initial reaction is the same as Sarah's.... say it ain't so! But I guess since my own baby is now 17 months, it's true!

You don't have to do high key (and really, I just used 2 lights and faked a bit in photoshop).
I use white seamless paper, but white vinyl would work as well. I used a piece of plexiglass over the top (just got it from Lowe's) for easy clean up.

You'll definitely need an extra set of hands... LOL And know your sides will hurt from laughing so much. Jake was very into it and pretty much sat in one spot the entire time (and he's a busy guy).

Let me know if you have any other quesions.

I will definitely have help, lol. I will probably go with the paper, it seems easier. What did you use for your two lights? Would it be a bad idea to try it outside with natural light? Im thinking it wont be enough light?! (i have no idea what I am doing when it comes to lighting) I dont have any fancy lighting, but dh has some work lights that Ive read will work in a pinch. What about reflectors? I am excited to play around a bit!!
