Default Suggestions for fall photo shoot clothing?

A friend asked me to take pix of their family outside with the fall colors. Does anyone have experience with this who can suggest good colors for them to wear? Maybe jeans and darker colored solid shirts? I have no idea...

TIA

I was told by a photographer to stay way from blue and green tops because they kind of blend in with the outdoor colors.

I have taken my families before and thought that black always looks sharp and browns and creams do to. I think as long as you stay with solids that is your best bet = )

I am sure some of the pros will give you some tips. Good Luck!

my friend got some amazing shots last year and her whole family was in jeans and brown tops - one series was set against orange and yellow leaves and everyone has blues eyes - amazed by how they stood out. Our photographer asked that we all wear white tops as she was setting us around the thicker area of the woods and brown was already prominent. i bet you'll get great pics.

My sister is getting ready to take some photos of us this fall. We will be outside in a wooded/park area. I think that textures and layers always look great in an outdoor setting. I like it when one family member is in a print and the others are in solids. Like our family pictures from this summer, for example:

For our pictures this fall, my DD will be wearing this:

And I will be in a brown cable knit/chunky sweater and dark jeans. My husband will wear some brown herringbone pants with a cream argyle sweater (maybe plain? haven't decided).

Our family dressed in denim one year and the shots were great with the fall colors!

We all wore white shirts and khaki pants one year, and I didnt like it as well, BUT the sunlight was a lot harsher in those photos.

One spring we all wore black shirts and stone colored pants. Looked great with the natural leaves and flowers. The photographer said stone color is better than khaki (tan)
in photos.

Good luck, and have fun!! And do show!!!

We're planning to wear cream tops and jeans this year. The girls will be in polka dotted dresses with little short sweater tops my mom made in cream.

We're doing ours tomorrow in the fall foliage...hopefully. We're doing a red/navy/cream combo with jeans.

As a photographer, I get so tired of seeing white shirts. Wear something funky! Cream is SO not white. haha
