Katrina,
Good luck with the move! Hope all your treasures make it safely to your new home! Sounds like a cool week-end festival, too. Since I am I Seattle and hubby in Atlanta, I will miss him this holiday weekend. Sam, the holiday is Memorial Day, a day to commemorate all the military heroes, past and present.

Oh, gosh, I thought Memorial Day was still on May 30! Silly me!

Actually, it looks as though I will be attending a journal workshop this weekend. I hadn't realized it is a three day weekend, though.

Did you know that it used to be called Decoration Day? They used to lay flowers on the graves of Civil War soldiers. My mother told me of Civil War veterans coming to her school to speak to the children when she was small (1920's).

This reminds me that I wanted to buy a new flag....

I also wonder if I can find a way to use Kellie's Poppy paper single in a layout for the holiday....

our kids have school on Monday so no long weekend for us. However, my daughter and her new husband are coming on Friday and spending the weekend. Will be nice---since we have not met him yet.

Lazy works for me! But not homemade pizza--it's too hot to heat the oven. Now grilling, that WILL be on the menu!

The actual Memorial Day is the 30th, but it is "observed" on the 26th this year. It is typically observed on the Monday prior to the actual date to create a 3 day weekend. (yes I know Friday would do the same...but we are a strange lot)

Heading to the lake for the long weekend with the family. Where I will have absolutely NO access to a computer. It kind of terrifies me!

I will be birding. No Surprise! DH and I are going to the high desert of eastern Oregon, where lakes and wetlands are bird magnets. I can't wait to get away for a few days and forget that stress even exists!!!!

Softball games! 4 to be exact. And finally my niece is graduating. I'm putting the finishing touches on things. I'm so excited for her to see the scrapbook and video!
