Default What a great night ...

Well let me just give you a quick update on our life right now... 1 week
from erics partial shoulder replacement surgery on Friday.

Our truck got stolen tonight from a restaurant. I was there with some friends for a baby shower. The girl who is pregnant couldnt make it b/c she was having pains that were contractions so she is at the hospital right now.

I parked in a sweet spot right at the front ... locked the truck 3 times (I remember b/c my sister made fun of me!) When I left the restaurant & looked out to where the truck was it wasn't there & there was a guy getting out of a grey suv parked in my spot.

I looked around the rest of the parking lot, hoping I was having a blonde moment & no pearle white escalade in sight. After calling the police & Eric I went to find the guy that parked in my spot. He said he saw the truck leaving the spot but didnt see the driver. So I was minutes away to getting to the truck before they did.

So its just gone. Gone with Spencer's car seat & stroller. Sigh ...

that's just terrible, Kayleigh! hoping you get it back soon, or that insurance covers it well (and quickly).

kayleigh,
I'm so sorry to hear about your truck! That's awful. Any chance the police can get it back, or is it gone for good? I don't know where you live, but sometimes near me (in AZ) stolen trucks often turn up wrecked on a local reservation, having been taken for a joyride by teens. Two of my former co-workers had that happen. Of course we are also close to Mexico and sometimes cars just disappear when stolen, never to be seen again.

I hope your insurance takes care of it! How are you getting around now w/out the carseat? Rental? aaaiiiie. Sounds like a nightmare!
good luck!

So sorry Kayleigh! Hope you have a good insurance policy with a low deductible.
It's such a pain to have to deal with this kind of stuff!

Thanks for everyone's kind words (thats why I love this place!!) No word yet from the police. We won't hear from the insurance until monday, picked up a rental today & borrowed a car seat from a friend who isn't using their's anymore.

BUMMER!! Hope they find it with your stuff intact. Insurance probably won't cover the "stuff" and that can add up! Sounds like your week is just beginning to get crazy--hugs.

Oh, Kayleigh... that stinks big time! Happened to my hubby, too, three years ago. It took almost three weeks, but we did get his truck back. A few repairs and it was good to go! Hope yours is recovered, too!

Just got a call from the police this morning, the truck was found in a field. There is lots of damage to it, missing wheels & major bumper damage. No word of anything in it, frankly im ok with nothing being it as it would feel wierd to use it all now. Eric is going to look at it this morning to check it out. The officer didn't want to say if it was enough damage to be written off or not, just have to see what the insurance says on Monday.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes

Now this really stinks! I'm so sorry to hear of your incident. Here's hoping things go well with the insurance and most of all Erics surgery.

Kayleigh!! I know how awful that is and how weird it is to have your vehicle missing. My van has been stolen from my house three times. It is the easiest to steal vehicle out there and I finally gave it away. But it is such an odd feeling to be standing there, unbelieving that your vehicle has just disappeared. And I am more on the gray side of blonde!! And then the strangeness of someone else being in your space....I hope they total it and I am assuming it was new enough to get a replacement. Good luck, my dear. I'll be thinking of you. Give us an update when you hear from the insurance.

Kayleigh, I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. I wish I lived closer so that I could lend you a carseat and stroller...and shoulder....and vehicle!

Just know that you are being thought of!

Seriously? I am just stunned! I'm thinking I wouldn't have the first clue what to do in that situation. I am so sorry this happened to you.
Hang in there. Hopefully insurance will be kind to you!

This may be the first time ever that I'm happy to be driving my old minivan that no one would want! LOL!
