so if you're into oldies, i suggest you pick up war by U2. that was my beach soundtrack one summer in high school.

i love the shins. i bought their music simply because i loved the title "caring is creepy."

and also dig coldplay. but i need more. i'll check out your playlist too.

Am I going to get kicked out of the "Cool Girls Club" if I tell you that my Ipod is loaded up with Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw...etc. right now?!?!?

oh yes, war is good. right now, i just have joshua tree loaded up though

the shins are awesome!! i'm seeing them again in 2 weeks and i can't wait. they're really really good live, too...and i think their lyrics are brilliant, even though i can't memorize them or figure out what most of their songs are about, lol!

and pattie - i don't even have an ipod, so don't worry about not being cool :P

cassie - pulling mussels from a shell was one of my all time favorite high school songs. also love the weepies, jack, and have to admit i did see hall and oates in concert - probably 1984 or so. and i think i've seen billy at least 3 or 4 times, once with elton.

i have 100's of cd's (now all digitized). but it's kind of like clothes. there's never enough, you know?

What's on MY ipod?
Cheetah Girls, Hannah Montana, Dottie goes Glam, Barbie Hitmix, Kids Bop 8,9,10,11 and soon to be 12 and so on and so on and so on.
Do you have a funny feeling that I don't listen to my own ipod? At least my daughters are in the "cool girl club".

LOL. Not sure I should share my "latest" fav playlist. ;-) What you have to know is that I deliver mail--and Christmas season SUCKS at the postal service. So, yesterday I was listening to CHRISTMAS music. Yeah. The air was cold and crisp, and I was looking for a playlist I hadn't heard in a while to play in the car. I will not want anything to do with it during the season, so I am enjoying it while I can. LOL You should have seen the looks!! My fav on that playlist is Joyfull Strings.

For a "normal" list:
The Fray
Pete Yorn
Augustana
Pink
Jack Johnson
Nickelback
The Who
Hoobastank
AND a ton of podcasts and audiobooks. ;-)

Mine is all so random and ecclectic! Pattie, I have Rascall Flatts, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney.... and then it goes all the way to The Offspring, Metallica, Pink... with Ashley Tisdale and High School Musical thrown in for good measure... LOL And then all my fun 80's stuff... Duran Duran and Prince are tops!

yes, you all are scaring me too with the "U2 as oldies" thing! I should have just gotten the U2 iPod, with all the U2 I have on mine! Some others:
Sting and/or The Police
Prince
George Michael
Joe Cocker
Cat Stevens
James Taylor
The Killers
Bruce Springsteen
Coldplay
Counting Crows
Robbie Williams (hey, I lived in Europe!)
and since I feel "safe" here I will admit the Kenny Loggins
I used to think I was "cool" but now I know nothing about music!
DH's iPod looks something like this :
Toto
The Scorpions
Def Leppard
Whitesnake

ETA: we also like Hall & Oates or Haulin' Oats as DH thought it was !!!

This is the kind of thread I always end up discovering new music from.... it's the best thing about the "long tail" and music.... before u had to read in a magazine or hunt around in a record store to find something cool -- which made the choices always subject to the "gatekeeping" of editors and music store buyers and etc... -- which would lead inevitably to mediocrity and the prevalence of "poser music" -- i.e. stuff that you want to like because you think it's cool, not because you really like it. Music journalism especially creates high-profiles for really lame stuff, because journalists are always looking behind their backs, trying to profile something that they think in 2 years people will think they were cool for liking "way back when".... I GREATLY prefer the democratic nature of threads like these, where people simply list their tastes and you can just look something up on itunes or youtube and check it out for yourself....

... YO.. Finally figured out how to export a whole playlist from iTunes into text format -- nice!

Here's the whole thing! Song first, followed by artist......
