Default Good news on a difficult situation
Nong/Liz,s cancer is limited to her head and neck. It hasn't,t spread any further down on her body. With that knowledge, she is on her way to a cancer ward as soon as a bed is available. They will start chemo as soon as possible to shrink the tumor so they can do the radiation. Again,it,s amazing to think just how fast this is happening. My xh is coming up frm NC tomorrow but my 2nd son isn,t making it now from snowy Seattle!

Today Nong has been talking,joking and even better her appetite has come back and food is staying down! The headaches are down to a 2 or 3 or not at all. What an absolute blessing that is.

Thank you all again for adding your prayers and thoughts to ours. A treatable cancer , with a very good recovery rate is more than we had hoped for on those first dark days. Love to all...Maureen

Maureen, this is wonderful preliminary information! I had been reading up on that particular type of cancer and was praying that it would be confined to her head and neck. I am glad you've been given a course of treatment and that the prognosis is good.

If you see Dr. Hunter Boggs in the course of her stay (he's in rad onc but I'm not sure what section of the hospital), tell him I said hello! It would be a fine thing if he were involved in your daughter's care.

Cautiously optimistic and happy for this good news!
