Default well i guess it isn't so simple

the cause of my hypertension. went to the doctor today and I am definitely abnormal. She has no clear reason what is causing the hypertension and is quite concerned. She is consulting 3 specialists tomorrow and has me lined up for a battery of more tests. One is concerning the renal artery so I need a scan for that. The BP meds are not working at all and I am to stay calm, stay away from salt and DO NOT EXERCISE until further notice. Ugh.

Oh Heather, so sorry to hear this! Unresolved health issues---particularly something as scary as hypertension---can be unsettling. I hope you have some answers soon. The not exercising I know will frustrate you. There's nothing that makes you feel more helpless than to have to sit still and wait. Please keep us updated. Maybe some scrap therapy is in your immediate future?

I agree Sarah!! I was doing some online research and a lot of things point to the adrenal gland issue so maybe they will find the answer there. I hope they can resolve it sooner rather than later. At least digi scrapping is relaxing!

You are so brave doing internet research. I've found that always leads me to the "worst of all situations" conclusions. But them I'm kind of pessimistic by nature. It would probably be better to have an adrenal issue than an artery problem, though the endocrine system is just so tricky. Best to you and take care of yourself, especially during this hectic season.

well i have just been reading, the internet is very misleading in a lot of cases but it does give you questions to ask and I am all about being in control of my health.

Good gracious Heather, I do hope they find out what it is.

But one thing I will say to you ... back away from the computer, at least trying to self diagnose. You'll drive yourself round the twist if you do that.

I am so sorry Heather! I am sure it's all going to turn out okay eventually but in the meantime it's such a pain to have to go through all those tests and insecurities! I think you'd be better off not reading that stuff on the internet, it can be downright scary! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
