That's the more or less bad news. However, the cardiologist said the one blocked artery is not terribly urgent but he advises not going. He will schedule Dick for surgery probably next week. The one interesting part is that the cardiologist is having thoughts about his doing the operation. He says since we are almost like family, he thinks he would prefer to have one of his partners do it. I get that but still it was a little twist.
Dick is fine with it all as am I, and I joked to him that he always has surgeries before I do e.g. cataracts, so if my time comes, I'll be familiar with the whole deal. That's some of what marriage late in life can be about! Thank you all for your prayers, and it's good to know what 'is' rather than worry about what might be. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

It must have been a very trying week-end, not knowing what to expect. It is good it is something surgery can fix, Maureen. I'm sure there will be many more exciting trips in your future together, but, I know it is a disappointment not to be going on the trip planned for this week. You and Dick will remain in my thoughts and prayers all through the waiting and the surgery and the recovery. Sending hugs right back at you.

now that the unknown is known, you will be able to deal with the business at hand. Good to have a good team of doctors and that's wonderful news. Keeping you in prayer Maureen... please keep us posted... and I'll be excited to hear about your next trip adventure.

Such good news that all he needs is a stent! He'll be ready and raring to go for the next trip!
I get you on that late in life marriage stuff. Right now I am my husband's eyes and ears because he's having problems in those areas and he does things that require good knees as that is my problem area! We learn to adjust!

Trips can be rescheduled but health cannot. Hoping all goes well with the surgery next week.
Wonderful to keep up the sense of humour. You are in my prayers.

Maureen I hope the treatment goes well. It must be very disappointing about the holiday, but of course Dick's health is your primary concern.

Thank you everyone. Dick's out to dinner tonight with a group of men for a seasonal Gratitude dinner. It definitely came at the right time. We know we are blessed that it isn't more serious, and that we have health insurance to take care of it.
Next trip??? already booked. LOL... San Francisco

Too bad about the stent, but it sure could have been worse! Stents are so not a big deal anymore nowadays We will keep praying for him anyway!
