Default so this morning when my hubby went for a jog

like he does every morning at 4:30, he saw a fox on the pathway ahead of him. He figured as he got closer he would just scurry off, but he didn't! My hubby ran right past him and the fox just gave him a glance. My hubby said it was so beautiful (and a bit scary) to be close enough to touch it.

There was an article in our local paper just this morning - a lady here was bitten by a rabid fox - several times! (Arizona)
They are gorgeous, aren't they? Just watch out if they get too close.

Yes, certainly one of those 'edgy' delights!

This reminds me of a run in we had with a raccoon this weekend. We were heading out about 4 in the afternoon and happened to notice a raccoon along the side of the road. It was just turning in circles on the white line at the edge of the road. It is not normal to see a raccoon out in the daylight so everyone in the car was taking turns guessing what the dilemma was.

It has rabies? Maybe, it was raining, but he looked very healthy decent coat etc. Was just ?rolled? by a passing car?? Maybe, but again, he didn?t look ?roughed up?. Then my 6 year old said neither, he just fell out of that very tall tree and hit his head. He?s just confused.

Anyway, it was gone when we came home later, either someone put it out of its misery, or it wandered off to safety. When it comes to wild animals it's always a good idea to play it safe.

Anytime a WILD animal is acting "not wild" it is reason for suspicion!! Sometimes they have just gotten desensitized, but often they are sick - even if they look healty.
