Default WONDERFUL Recipe!!

I made these a couple weeks ago and they are GREAT! You could use canned pie filling for Cherry or Blueberry etc....the Freeze great and bake perfectly. I have a Pampered Chef Stone and it is great!!

Apple Turnovers
DOUGH:
5 Cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
2C + 2T Lard or Crisco
Mix with pastry blender or two forks
Disolve 1 Pkg Dry Yeast in 1 C Warm water
Let sit 15 min and add with 2 Beaten Eggs and
3/4 C Evaporated Milk to the Flour Mixture
Refridgerate Overnight

FILLING:
1 1/2 C Sugar
1T Tapioca
1/4 Tsp Cinamon
1 -2 T Flour
One Dozen Apples peeled and sliced ( I cut each slice in half too)
Cook in Very large kettle untill thick

ASSEMBLY:
Mix Flour and sugar to put on your cutting area
Roll dough (I rolled mine pretty thin)
Cut a 5" circle (I used a lid from a Canola Harvest Marjorine container)
put 1Heaping T apple mixture on circle
Put water around the edge of crust, fold over and seal with a fork
Bake at 350* for 30 min

Out of the oven drizzle lines of powdered sugar glaze back and forth.

You can freeze these and bake as you need them....One just for you befor anyone comes home from work or school LOL
I froze them on a waxpaper cookie sheet and when frozen put in a container.

The apple mixture freezes very well by itself too.

These sound wonderful!! A neighbour dropped off a box of apples from her tree a few days ago so I'll have to use some of them for this recipe.

Ooh, my sister gave me one of these for my birthday.

Tovolo Petite Pie Mold Apple at Sur La Table

This will be perfect for this! I can make apple, cherry, and lemon for the kids and freeze them.
