Default Am I the first...

... to get snow! We are getting buckets full. We were at 81 degrees on Monday and now this! My poor trees are crying in pain with the heavy wet snow pulls them to the ground. I am frozen from going out with the rake to shake off the branches. SO NOT READY FOR THIS!

Oh, no, Jen! Not snow, already! I would not be ready, either! Luckily for you in Colorado the snow usually doesn't last and last until spring. I'm hoping for many more weeks before our first snowfall because where I live it often stays and just keeps piling up higher and higher.

I feel your pain Jen... we're in the bullseye over here... well over a foot and it's still coming down...this is like our spring storms... I shoveled a path to Fenway's kennel (pottie area) and decided it was coffee time... she's standing at the door... toy in her mouth calling me outside to PLAY... awoke in the night to what sounded like gunshots... it was large limbs snapping... winter wonderland but oh my... it's a mess... looking forward to our 60's later this week...

Yes... it is just like the spring storms. My trees in the back were just starting to change and they are still full of leaves I have been shaking with all of my might to save them.

But, it is supposed to be in the 70's by the weekend so at least it won't stick around!

I always say that our first snow storm is around Halloween. I just hate little kids out in the snow with their costumes covered with a coat, they are so sad!

I recall my only trip out to the AF Academy and it snowed in late September. Not a lot but a lot more than MD gets then! I say you all have that dubious honor of being first.

Heather hasn't had any yet? She's so far north and I seem to remember they get very early and very late snowfalls.

It's 80 degrees here today, we're experiencing the every-year around-Halloween heat wave. It's usually 90 the week of Halloween. We haven't turned our heat on yet this year, then again, we haven't had a significant rain since some time in August.

I'd trade off snow for the beautiful fall colors and Colorado scenery, I think. No snow here, but nothing else to look at, either. I hope your trees survive!

I'm with Donna. I would be so sad if we got tons of snow now. Only because it would last until Spring if we did!! The later the better as far as I am concerned!

Here's a secret so don't tell anyone... one of the joys of the CO valley is that we get over 300 days of sun each year and when it does snow... the sun is so bright, snow melts quickly... we'll have green grass showing in a couple days... and I've already measured 15" in my yard... remember... it's a secret...

I always tell people that we get more sunny days than Florida, they are always shocked. It is a beautiful thing that people think the snow sticks around from Fall to Spring. We hardly ever have snow covered grass But, I am with you... lets not tell anyone

Weather around the world has gone crazy, but this is very early for you isn't it. It's not even winter for you yet.

Actually we can get snow as early as September. It is rare... but I think they said we average about 4-8 inches in the month of October. Good thing is the sun has already come out and the streets are just wet! That is with nearly 6-8 inches dumped on us overnight For whatever reason we usually get this snow the night of Halloween. So, I am grateful it came early!

I still think that it should snow on Christmas eve, melt on Christmas day, and I shouldn't have to deal with it any other time. It always becomes ice around here.

I remember them telling us this last year when we took our vacation to Colorado Springs & Denver. So I thought, this will be great. Sunny, great for pictures.

And wouldn't you know it, it RAINED all three days we were there! Pikes Peak was was almost rained out for the cog railway trip, our drive to Denver was in torrential rain, and the baseball game almost got rained out. Just our luck!

I think it is supposed to get to 50 degrees today. Any snow that is exposed to sunlight will be gone today We are expecting near 70's for the weekend. But, my shorts are packed... so I will just be without a coat

I sure hope it stays away from ND...There are hundreds of families who do not have their FEMA trailer installed yet....some are still living in tents and campers from the flood this summer. NOT good. Should be a very interesting winter here. The water pipes are freezing already as they are not listening to anyone about how they need to be insulated. Just wait till it is -30 with a 40mph wind.

That's awful...I didn't realize there are still people without homes from the flooding and I live right in your neighboring state. I hope help is on the way for shelter. It gets mighty cold in North Dakota in winter!

Oh, when FEMA gets involved, it all goes downhill. There are still people in NOLA living in trailers post-Katrina.

I sure hope they get taken care of. That would be brutal. It's 45 degrees here tonight, our house is not insulated and it's up on piers so the floors are freezing. I forget every summer how awful it feels to be cold.
