Default Anyone has a Galaxy Tablet?

Inspired by Myra's iPhone question, here's my geek question of the day... Does anyone have a Galaxy tab? Do you like it? Why did you get that instead of an iPad?

Or if you got an iPad, why?

I don't have a tablet yet!
Maybe for Christmas, so I'll be really interested to see the responses here!

Never heard of a Galaxy. I may end up with an iPad by Christmas.

I have an Asus Transformer - Android. I have been thrilled with it, until it started showing some problems with the battery. And it is now in for service.

I LOVE having a tablet - it is so useful, but most of all fun!! I always have something to read with me now, the kids play on it, they have seen movies on it while travelling, I jot notes there (can I say Evernote??) , my calendar, music, podcasts and lots of other things. I can't imagine now being without a tablet. Trust me, speaking from one gadget geek to another - you'll love it.

Now, I know you are Mac - so I think you should go for Ipad.
But me, being a little anti-Mac and very pro-Android - well, the choice is clear.

Hmm, I don't have one yet. Did you hear about the new Amazon one coming out? I wonder... I love Apple but they are so dang expensive

I have an iPad. Not because it has an Apple on it. I chose Apple because:

1. It works predictably, and the OS is extremely user friendly. I also like the features of the new operating system that will be introduced in a couple weeks.
2. It's the hardware most developers are creating for. I wanted the best retail experience, which the iTunes store gives.
3. It uses the same charger as my iPhone. Maybe seems like a small detail, but I have one charger for mp3 player, phone and tablet. I like that.

That said, at work, we are on a Windows platform in the healthcare industry. We are seriously looking at Asus tablets that run full versions of Windows for my staff to access medical records and information. If I was going Windows, that's what I would want. They are full computers on a tablet. That is very intriguing.

I do! Have had it for quite a while and love the smaller size, however they do have a larger size now. DS works for Verizon so I got a real DEAL!! However, just this morning he was saying (like Anke did) that Amazon has a new one that is amazing. They are selling it for $50 less that it takes to make it because they know that you will probably buy apps and books for it.
