Default oh its been a bad week

with puppies. Lila is as sweet as can be but Sawyer still has not accepted her. We have had to interrupt many escalating battles and have finally called in the big guns - I have a Master Trainer/Behaviourist coming Monday morning $$$ She has given us a lot of really great wisdom through many emails this week some good some not what we want to hear. This whole venture to two dogs may not work out for us at this time. But we are going to do everything we can to try to work it all out. I feel sick.

That is so very difficult and worrying, Heather. I hope your investment of love and time and money leads to a good outcome.

Oh dear Heather, that's why I had originally said make sure your dog is introduced to the puppy before you make the decision to bring her home. What a disaster. Having said that we hadn't done the same either with Lucky and Molly and it took a little while for them to be friends so I have learnt from our experience. ALWAYS keep the pecking order first and foremost. Molly gets her food first, Lucky second. Molly gets a treat first, Lucky second. Etc etc. As long as Molly is higher in the pecking order here (as it should be, she is older and was here first).

Do you maintain that ritual as well? It really has worked for us.

well we seem to be doing everything right according to the behaviourist and the breeder is great cause she will take her back if need be. We will see where it all ends up.
