What a hoot this thread has been. I'm just getting caught up with it and am amazed that I never 'got' the fanny terminology despite 7 years in England! I spent a lot of time with a young, well I was young too!, crowd of musicians and I'm surprised none of them pointed it out. I suspect I may have gotten into the habit of using the word 'bum' instead. There's another US/UK difference in word meaning for sure.

Just now catching this thanks to Shirley's page! Heidi, you are adorable! For a long time, I was using the screen name, Jane Jetson, after the cartoon character. People kept calling me Jane so I just switched to marnie! Thanks for sharing!
