Question Scrapping Ex-husbands

Okay...my ex and I were married 9 years...and so long story...and in a nutshell I had stopped paper scrapping shortly after our son was born...heart wasn't in it. Long story there...we divorced in 2005...and so...I am here now digi scrapping and have quite a few pictures of ex-hubby with kids etc..I want to scrap them for my kids so they have the memory to look back on...is this weird? Anyone else scrapped their ex's...and I don't exactly plan on scrapping may photos with him and I...but more of him with the kids. There are three I want to scrap shortly of him pushing our daughter in a swing when she was about 1 yr old...anyways....any thoughts? Thanks!!

wonderful gift for your kids... go for it... it's for them... and personally, if you're in the photo too... that was the moment in time... relationship dynamics are "interesting"...

I'd agree you should go for it.. if you had already scrapped them and then got divorced you probably wouldn't remove the ones of him and the kids so don't worry about it now.. the scrapbooks are for them and that was part of their life

I think it will mean so much to your kids some day to have photos from their young years that include their dad. I commend you for thinking of doing this for them. It is a loving thing to do.

Oh I agree, you should scrap them. They are part of your life, of what and who you are. Life wouldn't be the same if not for those moments, right? I think it's wonderful to do it for the kids too!

I agree - your ex is part of your children's lives, and the scrapping would not be complete without it - what a wonderful gift for your children.

Definitely scrap them. I have Mike's ex-wife in a few of my pages. Reason being is that I'm giving the kids each a book which is entitled : "(their name) through our eyes". So more often than not it will be their interaction with us in the pages, but on the occasions that I'm at a family gathering, I make sure I get photos of them with their mum to add as well. It's part of their lives.

Wonderful answers to a heart wrenching question. I have included my xh in a couple of layouts when it's been a story about one of our children but since my children are adults I haven't gone back to those photos much. I think my bottom line would be that generosity of heart will always be the right answer.

I agree -- scrap them. You kids will love having this part of their lives documented and realize what a generous mother they have at the same time.

I agree with everyone above scrapbook the x, Divorced - no children - easier to be friendy than not. Also from divorced parents - and grandparents... pictures of the relatives that aren't around mean a lot more when you get older - !
