Default Something I thought I would never do...

I saw a spider today and let it outside instead of killing it. I want it to eat mosquitos.

They are that bad.

Too funny, Beckie -- I hope that's one hungry spider!

Beckie . . . "Charlotte" would love you . . . and "Wilber" applaud your for your intelligence and goodness!!!

I had a lovely black & yellow Garden Spider living in my kitchen window (on the outside) . . . when the window washer I had him skip that window to preserve "my" spider. He told me that was a first for him!

It's been so dry here this summer we haven't had a mosquito problem like we normally do. I can't stand spiders inside the house, I know they're "clean" but we get so many critters inside, they all get squashed. Except for lizards.

I saw two lizards on our garbage can yesterday evening (they've been visiting regularly) and I stood quietly to see what they were doing. They had a feast on flies and other little flying bugs. They each ate about 5 or 6 from what I could see. It was quite fun to watch.

Ummm, this is where I admit that I always do this. In fact, I have a scar on the back of my hand where I hit the bricks at the corner of the house shaking one, who had become a little too attached to me, off.

Aww, I always let them out, but then I live in Scotland where there aren't any really dangerous things, only the midgies will eat you, they get squashed.

We live on the edge of our town and get quite a lot of spiders in from the fields, so I've been tempted to squish 'em sometimes but they are generally good, I'm not so kind to flies in the house, and wasps get no sympathy lol.

Hadn't thought about the lack of mosquitos this year- I know we've got 'em but not like normal. . . it's dry here too. It's been too hot outside to really care to enjoy the mosquito "free" life- 100 degrees at 9 PM is just too hot. Unfortunately, living in the country, the drought means everything else is coming inside. I'm sick of finding spiders in our bed, on the couch, and every where else. So, I have to say, I'm not letting them live when I can help it. Most any spide will bite when backed into a corner- like a scropion will. A few weeks back, we had a scorpion hanging out under the toe-kick to my kitchen cabinets and it stung unsuspecting me while pouring a glass of milk. At this point, I'm just sick of critters coming in. Give me the rain!

I SO HATE mosquitos.......

most dangerous animal in the world....killed more humans than any other. It's true.

My hate is somewhat irrational and has earned me quite a reputation with the husband who loves to report that I will leap out of bed to snag them in the night. They don't bite him. I can't stand the noise and the lurking flight pattern.
