I am a week into our wonderful beach vacation and we are loving it. The weather has been rainy at times, but sunny other days. We've been going on lovely walks, rain or shine, and playing in the waves too. There is just something so soothing about the air at the shore. I have been reading post here and shopping of course, lol, but the internet is a bit slow. I was sad to learn that while away a friend I met online quite some time ago, Chris Hertel, has passed away from Breast Cancer complications. It was sudden, she was fighting a strong fight but an infection won out. She will be so missed.
I have been losing myself in the wonderful layouts in the gallery here each evening and as usual i am so amazed at the wonderful talent here. As lovely as vacation is, its also wonderful to come somewhere familiar at the end of the day and have a little me time

Heather, glad you're enjoying your vacation! Yes, the beach is something quite mysterious. The air is cleaner, and the sounds of the waves on the shore help rest your soul like nothing else.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. So sad. I had a friend two years ago who died from an infection, after a full year of fighting pancreatitis (she was in and out of consciousness most of the time). Their bodies just wear out. So sorry. **Hugs**. I'll cry for both of you tonight.

It is good to hear from you Heather . . . glad that you have a bit of connection here! You sound as thought your vacation is a dream . . . nothing like the beach for relaxing and restoring is there? I'll bet that the kids are loving it . . . and that you have taken tons of photos.

Heather, I imagine you are at a beach in B.C.? since Alberta is pretty far inland. I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves, and I'm curious what beach you picked. I'm always up for a side trip from Seattle/Vancouver when we go there.

I am in Tofino on Vancouver island. We love it here, its rugged and gorgeous. We picked up our surfboards today for the next week so that should be fun. Yesterday we discovered a beach we had never been to before because it is unaccessable during high tide. We happened to be there at just the right time of day and saw the passage way-it was stunning and the beach was littered with broken shells and a bit of sea glass! What a find! We are going to try to get there again before we leave. Thanks for all the condolences, cancer is just so awful and nowadays it just touches everyone it seems.

Glad you are having a great vacation Heather!! British Columbia is my fav place to visit!! I just got back on Saturday and I miss it already!! So sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences to you.
