Default Let's Talk Coffee

There has been a couple coffee related layouts lately which has sparked my interest about how everybody takes their coffee, where they get it, how they make it...whatever, let's talk coffee!

Personally, I use to drink 1-2 Tim Horton's Coffee's a day (prior to pregnancy), just milk and one sugar. This baby apparently does not feel I should drink it anymore, as I have no desire to drink it. But a nice Starbucks Caramel Macchiato is always a nice sweet treat which I don't mind at all

How do I take mine? as Barry's Decaf Tea, a pot in the a.m. Then later in the day I have Luzianne decaf iced tea. Both are sweetened with stevia.

But in the afternoon, my dh makes us an decaf espresso around 3:30. Mine is black with demerara sugar. He uses white sugar. Otherwise, I almost never drink coffee.

I have an Americano made with a double shot of expresso every morning with hazelnut milk. I'm not a morning person and so I look forward to my coffee.

Once in a while I'll grab an Americano at Starbucks topped with steamed soy milk.

Intravenously.

Seriously, it's usually an iced Americano with half n half and sweetener.

I don't like coffee but I do have a Dannon coffee yogurt EVERY morning! :-) And I like coffee ice cream, and mocha flavored things as well. Just not coffee as a drink!

Never coffee for me. I love the smell just can't stand the taste. But green tea is beside me the whole day.

I don't have it first thing in the morning, that's the time for tea with milk and sugar. But all the rest of the day is decaff with no milk, no sugar. It was after Amy was born that we went to decaff and I'm used to it now, though when I was doing my PhD I was in the Engineering dept at the Uni and they made STRONG coffee, I loved it.

I do like a latte at Starbucks.

South Indian milky 'filter' coffee in the morning; cappuccino when I can get it! The best south Indian coffee (it's grown in the hills here) is called 'Kumbakonam (a city) degree coffee' -- degree is for the milk inspector's measurement of quality, back in the days of British colonial rule. A small cup of Kumbakonam degree coffee will keep you sizzling for the whole day.

Ah, coffee! At Starbucks, I like a nonfat peppermint mocha with whip. Love their frozen Caramel Frapps, too ...but it really has to be a special occasion for those! LOL!

At home, I have a Keurig machine, so I mix it up with the different flavors. Always use a little creamer and some Sweet and Low.

I'm a tea person. I probably drink around 2 liters of green tea (warm or cold with fresh mint or mintflavored) during an average day. Starbucks green tea frappuchino was my to die for find.

In the morning (at home) I have freshly brewed coffee with heavy cream. Like half a pot of it...
During work, I drink Lattes. We have a "real" cappuccino-machine at the office.
But I drink tea too - with milk.
Never, ever sugar in anything!
Starbucks has not (yet) made an appearance in Sweden, but when I travel, that's where I go. Love their Green Tea Frappuccino!

No hot drinks of any kind for me---I can't abide the taste of coffee, hot tea, or even hot cocoa (if I could have it). I don't understand the coffee thing. But to each his own! The headmaster at our school is a coffee fiend (he probably drinks at least 2 liters a day, if not more) and he makes two huge carafes of coffee every day for himself and the students. The STUDENTS! My first year teaching I was in the kitchen and one of the seventh-graders came in and asked if the coffee was ready yet. I said, "Who are you getting it for? I'll bring it to them when it's done." He said, "It's for me! I can't get through my day without coffee!" I said, "Nathanael, you're TWELVE!"

2 cups in the morning, fat free cream and two sugars Occasionally I'll have a cappuccino, love those!

I have a cup of Haitian Coffee in the morning, which is a very tasty arabica, then have green tea the rest of the day.
I also have coffee growing in my backyard and I can't wait to roast my own coffee.

I do love a Chai Tea Latte. However I'm a coffee girl too. We have a coffee man visit us at work, pull up in his truck and sell cappuccinos from it. Love that door to door service.

I love to go out for coffee but unfortunately I have a husband who if I suggest going up the street to the cafe for a coffee on a Saturday morning he looks at me, scratches his head and says, "but we can make one here for free". He just doesn't get the whole coffee experience (which usually involves cake too!)

Oh Christina, how cool that is to have your own coffee trees! I saw the trees in Hawaii but now I 'know' someone with her own beans!

Me too! I generally only drink hot coffee in the winter. The closest Starbuck's is 70 miles from me but when I go it's a Caramel frapp all the way!

I usually start my day with a chai latte - then coffee later on if that doesn't get me going. It's demerara sugar and steamed milk. I would call it milk with coffee rather than the other way around. I rarely have more than one cup of coffee - I prefer tea - chai latte or green.

I start my day with a french roast coffee with milk, I have used skim milk for so long, that when my dil bought 2% it tastes really creamy! I have at least 2 of these cups of coffee and then I switch to iced green tea for the rest of the day!
Great thread!

I'm with you Lori, looooove the smell - not so much the taste. I do enjoy a 'skinny' latte when I'm out (no sugar and often half strength), but I never drink coffee at home. Tea, on the other hand - feel like my throat is cut if I can't have my cuppa (skim milk, no sugar).

Ahhhh coffee, the life blood of my call weeks. I used to drink only tea until I got pregnant, but now I just can't stand the taste. Really funny considering Isabel only drinks tea! I drink way too much coffee at work. There is a Tim's in the lobby, which I bypass, don't like Tim's coffee (makes me feel so anti-Canadian) preferring to drink the Starbucks from the cafeteria. I drink it black.

If it is a long or really rough day, there is a Second Cup in the main hospital and I have a "medium, skinny, half-sweet, vanilla bean latte. If I head to Starbucks, its a grande caramel macchiato.

As I drink my morning pot ... "ode" to coffee ...

coffee
black
hot
first thing
a pick me up
a calm me down
last thing
with friends
by myself
French press
instant
drip
from a
coffee house
store brand
I drink it all
a latte
as a treat
always hot
coffee
my comfort
my ritual

My automatic coffee maker broke about a year ago. I started using my French Press until I replaced it. The coffee was so good from the press, I never went back.

There is nothing like coffee from the French Press. When I meet friends at Starbucks for coffee we usually get a french press. French press coffee, "real cups", and chatting with friends. What could be better? Goodness!
