Default Alabama Vacation

My DH and I are taking a two week golfing trip to Alabama. Since the main thing is to golf--the Robert Trent Jones Trail--we will have very little time to see the sights in each city.

So, if you had one day in each of the cities, what are the must see attractions.

We will be in Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham, Greenville, and Florence.

Thanks in advance!!

One of my favorite, favorite places to visit while in Gulf Shores, AL is Bellingrath Gardens and Home. I've been there 2 times and wish I could go again. It's a photographer's dream come true!! You can google it to learn more about it and get driving directions.

20 miles southwest of Mobile
1 hour east of Mississippi?s Gulf Coast
2 Hours East of New Orleans, Louisiana
4 hours south of Birmingham, Alabama

Enjoy your trip, Terry!

OK, I'll chime in for Birmingham!

Here's a link to the Railroad Park you might like:
Birmingham’s Railroad Park - Home

And we have the Vulcan statue for great views of the city and UAB, which is the university and medical center, which might be nice to drive around and see. And my son is a server at Chez Fon Fon in the Five Points District if you wait a restaurant recommendation.

If you are staying out at Ross Bridge for the golfing, you could take the scenic route there from downtown on Shades Crest Road, giving you some beautiful views from the crest and fun photo ops! I hope you enjoy your visit!

Well it's out of your way Terry, but I'm SURE you won't want to miss the Boll Weevil Monument

Yes, I have stopped there, and yes we plan to do it again when I go down to the Gulf Shore with an Atlanta friend in September!

right across the Bay from Mobile is a town named Fairhope. Beautiful little artsy town with great shops and restaurants.

I met my hubby in Montgomery at Faulkner University, but we were two poor college kids with very little money to enjoy the attractions. Besides - we were too much in love to even notice anything else!

Have fun on your trip. I am next door in west GA - I'd love to meet you IRL one day!!!

Robert Trent Jones Trail! How fun! It is on my husband's list of "golf" vacations. Take lots of pictures. Should be beautiful!
