Question iPhone4 video-not sure how to phrase ?

I started to Google my question but realize I don't know how to phrase it.

I have a bunch of videos shot on the iPhone, many intentionally and some where the setting defaulted to video not photo. I have a small collection of 1-5 second videos that I really don't want but I occasionally want to have one of the frames as a photo. That's what I want to do but I don't know what this is called - and can I do it in iMovie which I have never delved into. Yet.

TIA

I haven't tried it, but here is a link from the iMovie support.

Wow, I need to try this, although it sounds like a foreign language right now
