Default Kamikaze birds

So, there is this particular stretch of sidewalk where I walk the dogs that feels like enemy territory to me these days. Every day for the past week, this bird dive bombs me... FREAKS ME OUT!!! I look like a total lunatic. I screech and I run down the street. I HATE things flying at me (even butterflies), so this is my worst nightmare! I think it must be protecting a nest? Or should I take it personally? Please, please let those baby birds grow quickly and leave the nest before I develop a permanent twitch.

That's my story for the day.

yikes! get those babies out of the nest!

we have lots of big windows on two walls of our house and we get kamikaze birds who just bang right into them.

How about walking on the other side of the street? LOL!

You would hate our house right now then. We have a nest right above our front door and the parents constantly fly out over our heads when we open the door and walk out. That has been there every spring since we have lived here. AND now we had a piece of something break off under our overhang out the back porch and there is a nest there as well and those parents also fly out when we come onto the patio! It scares me but doesn't bother me. I only wish the nests were in a location where I could get a picture of those little babies. The ones out back are VERY noisy!

too funny Elena, you and my middle DD would get along perfectly! She calls butterflies worms with wings! I hope the birds will leave the nest soon for you!

LOL! I can just see you flinching and twitching whenever you have to walk that way. Hope those babies grow up soon so you can walk in peace! We have problems here in NZ with magpies doing this and attacking children in school playgrounds occasionally.

We have birds that do the same here in Spring. These are the 6 weeks of the year where I have an umbrella up everytime I go for a walk, or only walk at night. I feel for you...

Poor you! I remember walking to work in Chicago and the pigeons would fly over my head and I would go nuts because one hit my head one time. I looked like a CRAZY too. Still am that way - I can't stand them!

Cyclists here have started getting around in very interesting spiky helmets because of the magpies! You just need to carry a big stick, Elena, and hope no-one sees you waiving it around madly!
