Default You gotta love him

so last night i went over the bank statement from last month and we went a little crazy in January buying lord knows what and eating out and just general stuff and we felt it. It was so disappointing because we are usually so good with spending. So I sat down with Rob and we talked about what we had to stop doing, like him eating out so much for lunch, too much take out coffee, etc. Then I got to the part of the statement that shows my digital supply spending. I sighed and said I need to cut back on that also and do you know what he said? and i quote:

" You cannot and should not stop buying what you need or want for your scrapping. It is part of who you are as much as breathing. I am so grateful that you take the time to record our beautiful life in such a beautiful way and to see the joy that it brings you is absolutely priceless. Do not touch you budget by one cent. I don't even like take out coffee anyway."

The best Valentine's ever.

That is so sweet! We have had some budget-busting months recently, and now that I think about it, hubby has never ever complained about the two things I spend money on. A gym membership (just for myself) which really is necessary considering my health issues, and my scrap supplies. I try to put my spending money in the bank before I buy, but last week our bank called and suspended our card b/c I had a bunch of the 50c and 2.79c charges from the sale.

You've got a keeper!

I will have to take that back. Just came down to the living room and found him on the couch, looking through the prints from ScrappingSimply, and laughing of some of the funny stories. Yup. I'm keeping him.

Heather - that has got me all teary eyed - what a sweetheart for him to notice, and tell you that. My DH didn't seem to care either way, and I figure he probably thinks I am crazy for spending so much time on scraping, but then he goes an buys me a digital picture frame, and tells me it is so I an display my pages at work. He went on to tell me that I could set it up to show the clock on one side, and then my square page will fit nicely. It shocked the heck out of me that he even thought about it.

It is sooo nice you do not have to justfy what you spend, as I am always ready to tell my DH if he ever complains is if I were still paper scrapping, the costs would be sooooo much more. Digital is so much cheaper. I don't even print photos any more, were I use to always get 100's of 4x6 prints to be used in paper scrapping, and I now only print them as part of a 12x12 page, for the ones I scrap.

So "the look" at the gas station was probably from a scrapper whose husband DIDN'T appreciate her scrapping!

What a great thing for him to say-he is right you know, capturing moments, and preserving, and presenting them really is a huge part of who we are!
