Default 12 hrs away...

Im not sure how Im managing to write this, but my husband went to visit our friends on Monday (they are 12hrs drive away) and I was going to catch a train on Saturday and meet him with our caravan for a couple of weeks on the beach, a little break away, after all the visitors we had over Christmas and for my sons wedding..
I got a phone call this afternoon to say my husband is in hospital with a suspected heart attack... I have spoken to him and he isnt in any pain at the moment, he is on a drip as he was severely dehydrated from trying for 3hours to dig our 4WD out of a field where he got bogged, due to all the recent rain.. it was 36degs, he didnt have any water... luckily he managed to flag down a passing car who drove him to our friends shop, who called an ambulance.. he is being flown down to Brisbane tomorrow to the cardiac ward for further investigation..
My daughter and I will drive down to Brisbane tomorrow to meet him there..
I feel a little mad at him for being so stupid, in the searing heat without water, and trying to dig the car out for hours.. why didnt he try and get help.. ah well, off to try and get some sleep.. just wanted to get it off my chest.. (didnt want to discuss it with my daughter, as I didnt want to distress her anymore than she already is)...

Oh Janet! He sounds like he is comfortable for now and is in the right place. Its so hard not to be with the ones we love when they are sick, but you will be with him tommorrow. Get a little sleep and drive safely. {{hugs}}

Safe travels for you and your daughter, Janet, and I hope your husband recovers quickly. (I'm sure my husband would have done the same thing; heaven forbid they ask for help or directions.)

Janet, what a shock for you to get a call like this. I pray all will be well with your DH and that you travel safely to see him so you know for sure he is OK. Hugs! One never knows what a new day brings our way when we were making other plans!

So wise of you to vent here instead of to your daughter. Oh dear. These precious men who think they are indestructible. (I've mentioned several times to my DH that men over 40 should never go up on a roof....seems like they fall off regularly!). I pray that your DH will be back to good health soon, and that your trip is uneventful.
