Default THUMBS UP on Fracture

I got my Fracture (photo on glass) order today and I heartily give it a thumbs up. It's not as scary as I thought a glass photo would be. The glass is comfortingly thin and mounted on black foam core. Because is it light, the hanging of the thing isn't as scary as I anticipated, either. The piece itself is beautifully done.

I say "Go for it." They seem to be getting swamped with orders, though, so time may be an issue.

I checked it out and couldn't believe that an 8X8 print with shipping is only $11?!?

Wow! I wanted to do this picture for my friend but printing it at Walmart ($4.50), getting a custom mat ($10) and a frame ($10) was a little pricey for a gift I didn't know if she would like. As soon as I have some more disposable cash (read: after the sale is over!) I think I might place an order. (Oh, just in response, our Walmart here recently remodeled and their instant print station uses HP printers, and the print quality and color is gorgeous.)

I'd love to see how it looks, and then I might do one of my own.

I'm so excited to hear that you give them a thumbs up! Last night I "pushed the button" on my order. I'm having a layout "mounted" for my grandson. The main thing I was worried about was the size on the square ones. They show a diagonal size of 8", 10", 12", 14" etc rather than a 12x12. I ordered the 14" and am interested in seeing how big it really is! I'm having it sent to my daughter because I didn't want the double risk of them shipping it to me and then me shipping it to her. They mentioned when ordering that they're swamped and the production time (as of yesterday) was 7-10 days so if you're thinking about Christmas you might want to get them ordered.

they do a great job with the packaging, too. someone would have to drop something really heavy right in the middle of the package for it to break.

Ive ordered my Fracture pic (18x18)... and its only costing me $US25 ($A26).. absolute bargain..
I couldnt see anywhere on their website shipping costs to Australia.. so I sent them an email asking if they do ship to Oz, they got back to me saying, because I was trying them out, they would ship to me for FREE, yep for FREE .... as a thank you.. they are in the process to setting up international shipping...

I cant wait to receive it, and consider myself very lucky.... I'll let you all know, firstly, if it arrives in one piece, and secondly, how the picture turns out...

Stayed tuned

My daughter received the fracture I had made with one of my layouts. She took some pictures but I can't upload them yet because the layout is in this issue of SNR but I will post it asap. She really liked it and my granddaughter thought it was really cool.

I ordered 3 fractures - one for me and 2 for gifts. I think they are fantastic. One thing to note - when ordering the square size - they measure on the diagonal. I ordered 10" square thinking it would be 10 by 10, but it was really 7" by 7". Not a big deal for what I ordered - probably for the best, actually, but just take note of that. The customer service rep said it has been confusing for a lot of people and they are changing over to the other way of measuring. ~Amy

Yes, I think I posted something about the sizing earlier. I understand that they're working on getting the square-sizing (as to a lack of better term coming to mind!) but they don't have a full-time web team so it takes a while to get changes made. I ordered a 14" square and my daughter said it measured about 10" on each edge. I can't wait to see them in person!

BEWARE.... mine pic is absolutely gorgeous... BUT!!! I thought Id paid for 18x18in square, but it actually measures 12x12... (I thought is was a little deceiving, but hey, it didnt cost the earth) but still... I def was disappointed.. Matt from Fracture said that they meas diagonally... so hopefully, they will rectify this...

For those of you who have gotten your fracture pictures - how sturdy are they? There is a chance that one would fall off a wall in my house - would they shatter? Break but be stuck to the foam for easy clean up?

Thanks

Katie

i can't imagine it falling off a wall unless someone bumps into it. these things are very light and un-scary. i was worried about hanging glass on the wall, but these things actually weigh less than a picture frame. i don't know about shattering. they're mounted on foam core.
