I am on Facebook as Sarah Luce Garner (Luce is my maiden name). I keep in touch with my sister and friends from Maryland since I am no longer living on the East Coast. Most of my church friends also use it regularly. I don't play games or run apps and I have a script that hides all the extra stuff. All I see are status updates.
I am slowly finding ladies I know from this site and love having the friends from all over!

I am on FB, but most of my family--outside the immediate--are not, so it's not much use there! It's great for keeping in touch with my dd who's away at college, though.

I have an account, but rarely go on to it. It is controversial in Australia at the moment, a young girl was just killed by a man she met on facebook.

I have a facebook account and it is nice to keep in contact with my grown children and their friends, it is the fastest way to get a hold of my dil-she sees it on her phone, my dh family is all on, and also many of the teachers I work with-I do not "friend" students because the district asks us not to, and I really dont want to know what they are doing. My National Honor Society kids have a page they use to communicate with all the members that I am not a part of, but it really works well for communication.

I also am on facebook ... great for keeping in touch with family and friends, as well as reconnecting with both high school and college friends.

I'm on and some of my local friends use it more than phone, text or otherwise. Once I eliminate all the game playing cra*#^^&-ola it's easy to manage. Just understand you have the privacy of a flea, even if you do all the suggested privacy bits.

I'm on Facebook and use it for staying in touch with Friends and Family both far away and local. I made a decision when I signed up to only "Friend" people I have actually met in person and know. I also have all my privacy settings set to "Friends only". I have gotten back in touch with people from past "lives" -- I have many, because I moved around growing up and was as a Navy wife for 8 years. I've been surprised by how much communication with local friends I am doing on Facebook. We often send each other private messages rather than e-mails and my book club has a restricted page on facebook where we list what we're reading and can have discussions in between meetings. I love FB
I use Twitter to follow people I might not necessarily have met and know. I consider it public and only post things I'd want anyone to know. I primarily use it to keep up with scrapbooking things and with library things (I'm a librarian). |

I too am on FB -but haven't gotten into the Twitter thing.
I find it helpful to keep in touch with what my daughters and grand-daughter are up to. The major reason I am on it often is that I play Wordscrapper with my s-i-l and a dear friend. Its great to have little chats with them daily and keep up to their day to day stuff. The funniest thing that I use it for is when our friends' children post pictures of their kids my hubby and I can spend a Saturday night looking at them. Imagine that, spending a Saturday night laughing at our friends grandchildren! LOL :-)
