Wink Curiosity... Screen Names..

Hi Everyone!

Just curious where you all came up or got your screen names from? Is there a story behind it? Does it mean anything to you?

I'm just curious...

Ah, well, I'm Sharon May - and my dearly loved and much missed Nanna used to call me Shannamay. So - in memory I guess! Yours?

My hubby has been called Muddy by friends since high school, based on his surname. When we got married I figured that now I could be "Muddy" too, but I just added the girl to the end cause, I'm a girl

When I was engaged my dad would call me "almost Mrs. P"...LOL So, when I got my very 1st online account I was justMP because it was going to be only my account...it's silly actually, but it's been my identity for over 12 years.

Mine is just the email address I was assigned in college - it is your last name plus your first name until it adds up to eight characters. Of course now that I'm married it doesn't make much sense to people.

Mine is my hubby's sign in for everything. We both use it now, only we have our own unique passwords. My sign-in for about 10 years was "eurydice" but it drove people crazy because they didn't know how to pronounce it or what it meant (your-IH-di-see, she was Orpheus' wife that went to the Underworld). So I started using my husband's sign-in. Not very original, for sure! But better than the old CompuServe logins~

I have one of those names that there are way too many of, so mine is just my way of abbreviating that: from Deborah to Dorah.

Mine is not original either! It is my pre-married initials, and then my birthday. I have it all over the place and If I change it now, i will never remember what sites have what... having one is much simpler! I had to have something to use and remember in college... this was the best I could do... lol... So much for my creativity! Ha!

Some of those stories are funny!

Mine's a nickname that I've had since high school. Family and "real life" friends from back in the day still call me Squeak.

When I lived in Galicia (Spain), I had a boyfriend whose middle name was Anxo (the Galician version of Angel). I remember him, and the fantastic time I spent in Galicia, by using Anxela (Angela), which is, of course, the female version of Anxo.

i think i remember posting this explanation before in some thread or another: there is a scene in Paul Theroux's book "Riding the Iron Rooster: By Train Through China" where he's driving his poor Chinese guide crazy, but the man is taking it all with grace and decorum. Paul Theroux said that he couldn't understand how the guy was keeping his cool and not throwing his hands up and screaming "WHAT NEXT!!!!" That formed such a vivid picture in my mind and made me laugh, so I took the phrase as my name. I think that it seemed appropriate for my life, too, and that's why it resonated with me. There are days when I'm so exasperated I want to throw up my hands and yell "WHAT NEXT???" And I sometimes do.

I don't know how I missed choosing an interesting name. I am just my name.

My screen name is chosen in honor of my favorite hiking park in the U.S. - Glacier, in Montana. The road that goes across the park and the Continental Divide is called Going to the Sun Road. : )

Mine is also pretty basic and the first letters of my 2 daughter's names - Amber and Sonia ie Amson. I have thought of changing but it has been a sign in for so many years in so many places...

Well I am feeling positively boring... mine is just my name and state.. years ago I was in an online class where there were several Donna's so we all added our state of residence so people could tell us apart.. and I've just stuck with it

Just my name... I used to have a log in name a long time ago. But, I got tired of putting my name after every thread so I just decided to go with Jen. And since there are a bazillion Jen's in this world my whole life it has been followed by my last initial
