Default Mini vacation!

I just came back from a short five day mini vacation to Hungary with my dh. It is the first time in six years (since Aviv was born) that we have done ANYTHING together alone, just the two of us.

Even though I found it hard to leave my two little punks and cried a little when we talked on the phone - we had a great time!

Dh and I met when studying in a south Hungarian city called Szeged, and that's where *it all started* - so to speak.... We lived there for six years.

It was so nice to be back - and a strange surreal feeling it was too - I felt like I had gotten older with lots of new experiences, while everything else there had not changed at all. The same faces, the same smells, the same places and things. Weird.

We also spent a few days in Budapest, that we also know well. And I have to say, I think a long weekend in Budapest is great!
Good food, nice city, fun shopping (good prices still!). Recommended.

A vacation w/o children is a true luxury for a couple! I'm so glad you had a chance to do this for yourselves.

You certainly deserved the break. How wonderful! I grew up with Hungarian neighbours and have always wanted to travel to Budapest. One day... Can't wait to see your photos.

It sounds delightful - both the time away together and the beautiful part of the world you visited. I think it would have been a well earned break for you! A friend of mine has just gone to Budapest for a trip. Maybe one day I'll get there too!

Sounds wonderful, what a great getaway! Can't wait to see all your pictures. It's how I would feel if DH and I took a trip alone to St. Louis (though not nearly as exotic as Budapest, for sure!).

It's always fun to just get away with the husband, but at the same time hard to leave the kids. I remember. I'm so glad you two enjoyed yourselves and had some time together.
