Default desitin disaster

AHHH! I guess I'd been sitting at the computer too long, cuz I just found my 17 month old AND HIS ROOM smeared with desitin! He had been playing quite happily and I could hear him talking to himself, so I wasn't concerned. Guess I didn't put the desitin up high enough when I was finished with it earlier, huh?

An no, I didn't take pictures, altho' it did occur to me, but the white didn't really show up well.

Off to clean up the carpet, the wall, the, dresser, the kid...

Oh, yes, it happens! Desitin is pretty mild compared to what he could have gotten into, yes? My son recently emptied a whole tube of mint-green toothpaste on my brown couch. It came right off, but I wondered why it had been 20 minutes and I hadn't heard from him . . .

Oooh, and Desitin is so gooey too! I got a giggle out of the white not showing up in photos. Next time you should buy something with a little color to it, although I'm sure you don't want this to happen again!

Let us know how long it takes you to get it cleaned up!

It really could have been worse, Kelly. Forty-one years ago, my 15 month old son was contentedly playing in his crib after a nap (I though I would let him play while I fed his baby brother). When I went to get him, he had painted the wall, the crib and himself with poop! What a mess . . . the crib was a Jenny Lind that we had borrowed (his dad was in Vietnam & we were living with my aunt) . . . with all of those little nooks-and-crannies it took forever to clean the crib, the walls and him. Thankfully it was spring and I could take the crib apart and scrub it and rinse with the hose . . . with the help of my daddy!

I remember that day like it was yesterday too. You will remember your day too . . . you really should scrap it somehow. Yours was a "clean mess" and scrappable . . .mine was a "dirty mess" and never to be scrapped!

Oh no -- never a good sign when they're playing quietly in the other room. One morning before I got up, my then toddler got into a desk drawer and stuck stamps everywhere (that's when you still licked them). Ugh!

OMG!!! I hope everything cleans up good. Kids!!!
I remember those days. When my little boy was little he usually runs to the restroom and after he would wash his hand forever. So I never thought anything of it, until a heard a click and a funny noise with a huge laugh. I went into the bathroom and I saw that he took the clippers out and gave himself a buzz. Right on top of his head. He had long hair too. so I ended up just buzzing his head...didnt get the before picture but did get the after. I wasnt sure if It was funny or not. But he thought it was hilarious. KIDS!!!

I'm having a hard time getting it out of the carpet. Any ideas? Oh, and the little darling is watching me from his pack-n-play. He really, really wanted to help clean up too!

Mollie- My oldest son, now 9, did the same thing with his poop. UGH. Definitely worse!

I looked around, a few places said hot water and Dawn or a really good grease-removing detergent/soap. Desitin is greasy, so stuff that cuts grease might work.

Yeah I laughed today about it. This was definitely worse than when he dragged a roll of tp around the room.

It's finally out of the carpet.

At first glance, I thought this said "Destin Disaster"! And I wondered what was going on down in FLA! It's been so long since I used desitin that it took me a few moments to figure the whole thing out!

Can you imagine the fun he was having? I'm sorry you have to clean it all up! That is not fun. But a good memory to scrap

you mean he didn't have it in his hair for you to take pictures of? Sorry, but some day you really will laugh about the whole thing. At least write it down, you can always make a page with a picture of a tube of desitin. The story is quite cute....

Oh my gosh I can remember when this happened to my daughter! She phoned me and said "help mom" It was all over gd Amy, sofa, floor and what a mess. We never did get it completely off the cushions. I believe she took pictures! We were never sure if she ate any and we laugh now but at the time what a disaster!!
