Joni,
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how devastating the last few months have been. My advice is to do what feels comfortable for you. It may be helpful for you to create pages now about your dh or it might not be something you're ready to do quite yet. Let your heart lead you.

Terri

Joni,

I am so very sorry for your loss. What a difficult time this has been for you. I applaud you for wanting to do a book about Boyd. While it might create some tears, it will also great lots of joy for you and for others who will get to know him better.

I have done a tribute book about my mom and it brings me so much joy. For my book I stuck to a certain paper line and sort of made "chapters" for different stages in her life. In each chapter I used a different color scheme. It was a fun album to do and share with others.

Peace to you.

Welcome Home! Remember you well Joni. You've had a rough year to say the least. My sympathy and heart go out to you as you grieve the loss of your dear husband, Boyd. So glad to hear from you as I have often wondered how you and Boyd were doing. I've missed your lovely designs in the gallery and will look forward to your posts. Healing takes time, at your own pace. So good to hear from you!
Hugs, Marnie (by the way, I used to be jane jetson, changed user name to my real name)

I am so sorry to hear about your family's loss!! When my dad died, I scrapped a few poster boards to display at the wake. They each had a different theme. One was photos of my dad as a boy called "Jackie," one was of him as an adult doing things he loved and some with my mom. That one was called "Jack." Then there was one of him with us kids through the years called "daddy." Then the last one was of him with the grandchildren titled "Bop." (that's what the kids call him). Anyway, the point is you maybe could do different kinds of pages based on what time in his life it was, or what activities he was into, or what "hat" he was wearing in his life at the time. I'd also brainstorm a list of favorite memories and ideas to refer to as you start creating.

This will be a wonderful project and surely help in the healing and the memories of happy times.

Prayers and hugs to you!

Suzanne

Oh Joni, I remember you and I'm so glad you've come "home" to us!! We will be here to help you through this time. I'm so so sorry for your enormous loss. My heart breaks for you. (((HUGS)))

I love your idea of creating an album about Boyd. I think if I were you, I'd start with any topic that will be enjoyable for you and make you smile. Maybe some funny memory or something about him that you really admired. Just do a page that you feel like doing.

So sorry to hear that you lost your husband. I am a widow also having lost my husband 8 years ago! The first year was the hardest for me! Scrapbooking definitely helped me through some rough days! I still have them even now but time eases the pain of loss! This is such a wonderful community of loving friendly people and I am happy I have found a home here! Welcome back and look forward to seeing your pages!

Welcome back Joni, sending sincere sympathies to you and your family.. just as all the digi girls have said, dont put too much pressure on yourself to get everything down NOW, just take your time and work with the photos you can handle first, I'm positive it will help you with the grieving process.. {hugs}..

Joni,

I don't know you since I just joined but wanted to share.

I wish you all the support and caring friendships during this time! My sympathies to you and your loved ones...

Any scrapbook that you make for Boyd will be an honor and from your impression he would be so proud of you! To take on such a challenge, both sad and loving, your creations will only come from your heart and will be amazing!

I wish you the best!

Hi Joni, I am sorry to hear this news, and I appreciate your wanting a "nudge'. I too am a widow and remarried. I would think you can use scrapping as an outlet for your emotions. I remember keeping a journal. I go back to it sometimes.

Joni, hugs to you as you go about putting together an album about Boyd. I suggest you gather the photos and write whatever comes into your head, attempting to make sense of it all later. Remembering that not everything needs to be shared, just follow your heart and do what brings you comfort. I am so sorry for your loss.

Joni...you are now in my thoughts and my prayers! I can relate to you one to one...Bonnie, who just passed in March was my mentor and my friend. She was the reason I started digital scrapbooking and she was the reason I bought my first"good" camera! So both of these things which brought me so much joy became a stumbling block that I couldn't seem to get past. But...I did...I posted a couple of pages and this past weekend I finally took out my camera and took some beautiful pictures of some Wisteria in my yard! It was refreshing to say the least and I can truly say, I felt her with me. I pray that the Lord will wrap you in grace and peace. In these you will find the joy in remembering your wonderful husband, just as I remember my fabulous friend!
And there is no better place to be than here at DD...the best group of ladies I never met!

I think just take the scrapbooking a day at a time...it will definitely be hard but I think it will also be therapeutic as well.
A tribute album on Boyd is a really wonderful idea
Maybe trying looking through book templates in the store?
