Default One more Mac user

My PC died Saturday morning. Of course it would die on chat day when I arranged out of the house activities for DH and the kiddies! Luckily for me my DH's Mac he uses for work has CS4 on it and so I was still able to scrap.

This was the 2nd complete crash in 8 months, after trying to repair/reinstall all day on Saturday we gave up. The purchase for my iMac happened today, and now I just need to figure out how I'm going to wait for it to get shipped!

Oh congratulations!!!!!!!! You are going to love it... of course it sounds like you have an expert in-house. It's a little bit of a learning curve but not too bad.. Mel always recommends that Missing Manual book and it really did help me.

Congratulations! I've been a mac user for about 3 weeks now! Have to say it was a bit stressful at the start, and obviously I have heaps to learn, but I am already a convert - I love it! Just waiting for my 'missing manual' from amazon at the moment.

Sorry the old bird gave up the ghost Saturday. That is a shame but be patient. You will love your new Mac. Just make sure to use TimeMachine asap. Are you near an Apple store to go in for the free classes? If so, USE them. They will really help you over the change transition. And just keep asking here. Many of us have btdt.

I'm mostly worried about my project 365 progress - The last time my computer died was about 5 weeks in last year, and that ended up with me giving up. My DH is gracious enough to let me use photoshop on his computer when he isn't working at night, but it's not the same as being able to pick and make notes on my picture of the day with my own computer.

Here's to hoping my new baby has an uneventful transcontinental voyage today!

Best wishes, Beckie! I think that you will enjoy your new Mac . . . I got a new Mac in November and I'm learning something new each day . . .I can scrap on it now!!! I have always been a PC girl, so the change was a bit stressful, but now it seems second nature . . . I've a long ways to go yet, but with the help of the Mac OSX Snow Leopard - the Missing Manual, I'm moving forward.

I love my Mac and I wouldn't go back to pc but don't forget that Mac's hard drives can crash too. I have an older iMac (almost 5 years old) and it has been fine but my MacBook's hard drive has crashed twice.
